Best Alcohol Gift - around $100?

Hey ladies and gents,

I am looking to purchase an alcoholic related gift. I don't drink so I absolutely have no idea what to get.

The person is in his late 30s, male and seems to like wine(?).

Any recommendations on a "safe" drink to purchase for around $100. I can spend a bit more so the budget is flexible.

  Nothing beats a good single malt scotch Whisky. Wine is more of a house warming gift, not a special occasion gift. You should bring a bottle of wine and an actual gift if you go the wine route.

  A cool thing I received as a gift once was a cocktail tasting experience. It was for my 20th bday and I had a chance to see a superpro bartender working, explaining techniques, spirits he was using and what different variations and flavor tones u could get. It was great!

  So maybe a wine tasting or cocktail tasting can be unusual and super fun!
