Qantas are now offering Frequent Flyer Points when you use Uber to travel to and from selected Australian Airports, if you request the Uber via the Qantas app only.

You can now earn 1 point per dollar if you're a Bronze member, 2 points per dollar if you're a Silver Member and 3 points per dollar if you're a Gold, Platinum or Platinum One member.

You can earn points travelling to or from the following airports:

  • Adelaide
  • Avalon
  • Brisbane
  • Byron Bay
  • Cairns
  • Canberra
  • Gold Coast
  • Hobart
  • Maroochydore
  • Melbourne
  • Newcastle
  • Perth
  • Sydney
  • Toowoomba
  • Townsville

New Uber users will also get 2000 bonus points if they book their first trip (anywhere, doesn't have to be to/from an airport) via the Qantas app.

EDIT: The iOS and Android apps are now updated to support Uber, so the offer is now available!

  • I thought Uber still banned there drivers from going to Adelaide airport for secruity reasons because SAPOL allowed taxi drivers to threaten and hit there cars. Yet a normal person did that to a taxi, they would be fined.

      I believe the apps still need to be updated with the Uber booking feature. I can't book an Uber using the current version of the Qantas app on iOS at the moment. I would assume the app would be updated by Friday. From Nov 3 onwards, the offer seems to be ongoing.

  • Maybe this means that Qantas gets a commission from Uber under this arrangement. If so, I bet the commission is worth more than the FF points. Then you have to wonder if this is factored into the Uber fare calculation for trips resulting from Qantas app referral?
