Hi everybody, here we are again at the spookiest time of the year - and at Look Into Infinity, that means great savings on our flagship product, SpooKit! That's right, we're having our annual Halloween Spooktacular sale. For a limited time the pro version of SpooKit is on sale for $0.99. That's better than half price!!! And this is no run-of-the-mill paranormal app - SpooKit is the industry standard in its category. The sale starts at 11:00am ADST. Enjoy!

I'd like to remind everybody that at this point in time, there are more dead people than ever before in history. Therefore it also holds that there are more ghosts now than ever before. Therefore this app is more useful now than ever!

    What's it for???

    • +1

SpooKit takes an ordinary Android telephone, and equips it with the ability to detect spooky phenomena. The classic case would be ghosts, but its Spookiometer can be configured to detect ANYTHING that could be aptly described as "spooky".

      • Why don't you just ask your partner straight out if they're a spy? 🤔

        • Spies are not spooky. That's not what this app is intended for. Thank you for your feedback.

  • You guys should develop an app called the Cool-O-Meter that measures how cool something is in Mega Fonzies! Or even better an app that tells you if something is a hotdog or not a hotdog.

    • I'm afraid neither of your ideas are practical, Lizard Spock. For starters, "coolness" is a subjective trait, not something that can be measured (certainly not by the sensors found in a typical Android phone). And the hotdog app hardly sounds useful. Thanks for your input though; we welcome all new ideas.

      • I really thought I had good ideas. Oh well, back to the drawing board

        • Don't be discouraged Lizard Spock! If at first you don't succeed - try and try again. If you stick with your creative approach, you'll hit a winner sooner or later.

        • @LookIntoInfinity: in case you didn't get my references here's the link to the cool-o-meter and the hotdog/ not a hotdog app

        • @Lizard Spock: I see… So this whole time your ideas were merely allusions to fictional TV shows..

  • The industry standard in measuring random shit and then claiming it's ghosts! Truly a professional tool!

    • It's known within the paranormal community that paranormal phenomena emit an EMF signature. Without detailing too much about the patented algorithms used within SpooKit, it capitalises on these EMF signatures to detect the presence of spooky phenomena. It's easier to tear something down than to build something anew. Perhaps you could offer a more constructive viewpoint next time. Thank you for your feedback.

      • Without detailing too much about the patented algorithms used within SpooKit

checks watch, nope it ain't April 1st. What are the registered patent numbers?

        • No, it's the end of October, hence the Halloween-themed sale. I feel like some of these threads of discussion are really starting to stray from the original topic - Look Into Infinity's Halloween Spooktacular sale.

        • Okay, I'll admit I used some poetic licence when I described the algorithms as "patented". The reality is that a patent application is not free and it requires exposing secret details. We maintain our exclusivity by keeping our software closed-source and being careful when discussing the internal mechanics. Thanks for your feedback.

        • Thanks for the honesty

  • SpooKit is the industry standard

Must be a small industry with only 50-100 downloads since 2015

    • Indeed it is. That said, the majority of our users opt to use the free version

  • Hey op, what's the difference between your spooki detector and this free one?
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.snowpackst…
as the one I just found seems to be far superior able to tell you where the ghost are, how far they are away from you and how many exist.

    • Thanks for your question. Your phone doesn't contain the hardware to triangulate the exact source of an EMF signal, let alone to distinguish how many distinct sources exist in its range. Any app claiming to do that is selling snake oil.

      • oh okay thanks. because i'm quite sure the phone doesn't have an emf distinguisher between spooky emf and general emf radiation. so how do we use your app to detect ghost? do you hold the phone? place it on your head with the mic pointing towards the front? or do you maybe strap it to your chest to have it nice and secure so if you get spooked by the ghost you won't drop your phone, they cost too much now of days to loose a phone during ghost hunting incidence.

        • i'm quite sure the phone doesn't have an emf distinguisher between spooky emf and general emf radiation

Correct. This is why the app requires calibration. You can use the threshold and sensitivity sliders to make these adjustments to remove noise from background EMF radiation. Our PR department have approved the following joke (please read aloud for maximum humour):

Q: What's the difference between a Spookiometer and a fish?
A: You can tune a Spookiometer but you can't tune a fish!

so how do we use your app to detect ghost? do you hold the phone?

Yes, this is how the app is used. As stated, the app detects all manner of spooky phenomena. It is up to the intelligence of the user to discern whether the source is spectral in nature. By changing the position and orientation of the phone (i.e. walking around with it and using the needle to decide where to go), the source can be located. If no other spooky phenomena is present at the source, and nothing that would scientifically have a reason to be a source of EMF radiation, then it can be inferred that the site is haunted.

or do you maybe strap it to your chest to have it nice and secure so if you get spooked by the ghost you won't drop your phone, they cost too much now of days to loose a phone during ghost hunting incidence.

Yes, phones are expensive nowadays. If the user is concerned about dropping their phone, they are encouraged to take appropriate measures to secure the device. Look Into Infinity bears no liability for damage to devices caused by user carelessness.
