This is a fantastic speaker with great bass!!
It's a good speaker, but sound is way better in Charge 2+, unfortunately. Also, it got fatter for no reason.
And keep in mind you can't hook up more than two of these, despite the promo materials stating it's 'multiple' speakers.
I would recommend people have a look/listen to the many YouTube videos on Charge 3 vs Charge 2+ (and many other rival speakers), by reviewers like Clavinetjunkie, DLX Willington, Jim's Review Room, as it gives a good idea of the sound quality and tone of the speakers. But you need to use good headphones as the reviews are recorded using high quality binaural microphones.
Charge 3 is generally considered to be one of the best in it's size and price range, and is fully waterproof, while Charge 2+ is only splash resistant.

I agree. And I bought it based on the reviews. Then I was disappointed trying 2+ and 3 one after another, IRL, not on YT.
2+ is smaller (UE BOOM size) and has better sound. True, it's not as waterproof as 3. However, I'm not putting it under shower. And 2+ seems sturdier and less plastic to me.
I bought the Anker SoundCore Boost based on Clavinetjunkie's review, now waiting on shipment from Ali. So many options, many reviewers are happy to promote a product that is only average without comparing to many other products.
This or Megaboom? Assuming I get Megaboom for under $200.

From what I see, it's not quite anything-proof. It's elegant but lack features. And the battery is worse. I'd rather buy a traditional, non-portable bluetooth speaker for my kitchen.

Yes. It's not the biggest one however.
Yeah, flip is smaller and then there's a much larger one again called Xtreme or Boombox. But thinking about this for travel/portable speaker.
