  • I have $10 kogan credit, will that work with DS shop as well?

No, doesn't look like it, and cpu cooler is $48.92 + $9 on Kogan.

    • I got the fans down to $3.45 delivered with my Dick Smith eVoucher from a cancelled order.

      Ozbargaining!

      • Same here. I'd completely forgotten about my evoucher from the cancelled Sangean radio, and it was to expire tomorrow. A fortuitous bargain!

        • They cancelled my order under the same excuse as before (unexpected demand).

I call BS and they didn't want to lose money. Giving me another evoucher.

  • …and the CPU cooler is huge, be aware of that. Make sure you have clearance to ram etc. On the plus side, even if the fan died, it would be a week before the CPU got hot.

$42 at umart, plus shipping if not close. But you do have to deal with umart :D

    • I don't know what cooler you're talking about but the 212X is not huge. It's average size at best. You can also mount it horizontally or vertically to avoid it hitting the memory sticks.

      • You can rotate it 90 degrees, also if you have room.

    • the 212X's performance is overrated.

if you can't afford a Noctua take a look at Phanteks options, they're really killing it right now.

      • I had to replace a case fan a couple weeks ago so while in there I installed a 212X so bit late now for me. It works well enough. AMD and speedfan says temps easy under 40, not that I game so not pushing it. But it used to sit easy near 60 with stock cooler.

don't get me wrong, its definitely better than the stock coolers and you can't beat it at that price point - but its not an overclocker.

for an extra $20 or so you can get air coolers that offer a substantial improvement in performance, but it depends what your needs are of course.

        • @diamondd: what is the fan that you refer to? I'm in the market for something that doesn't block ram and doesn't cost $100+

@murphinator69: I was talking about the Phanteks PH-TC12DX, you can get for $60. Very comparable performance to the Noctua NH-U12S for $40 less.

the 212x is kind of halfway between those two and the stock coolers depending on where you look.

  • Awesome, missed the last deal with Kogan. Doubt I'll ever use them as I've got Gentle Typhoons but hey, it's $13.

  • Thanks OP……….MB cooler(from my lookin') apparently will also fit ASUS Z77 based motherboard(s), because it has the same socket as … the LGA 1155 - post techenclave forum and echoed on Tom's Hardware forum (I think as I can no longer find the second post after closing tab) damn hope so anyway LOL

    • Intel cooler mounting holes have been unchanged since Socket 1156 , so the same cooler will fit 1156 (2009), 1155 (2011), 1150 (2013), 1151 (2015), and what I'm going to call 1151-CL (2017. The version for Coffee Lake, which is electrically different from 1151 but physically identical down to the processor alignment notches, because Intel are jerks sometimes).

  • would this fan fit in this mobo ?

link to the 4 pack of fans doesn't work :/

  • +1

    Can't find the fans either.

  • +1

yeah looking for the 4 pack fans

  • If anyone's in Melb southeast, I'm selling the 4 pack fans for 10 bucks
Bought it few days ago with the first kogan deal but then realised it had ketchup and mustard cables :(

  • +1

I think the link has been removed, maybe out of stock.

  • .. need to learn to read .. comment self edited.

  • Fan pack missing :(

  • +1

Just got a message from Dick Smith saying the fans are out of stock and offering me a refund + $10 eVoucher.

    • Yep, me too :/

    • Me three….neither option is satisfactory at all.

    • I used a $10 eVoucher from when they cancelled the Sangean radio order, so maybe with the refund option I can make $10 real money from their incompetence :)
