Hey parallelparadox - it's actually not bad! Handles quite a few tabs/everyday-use quite well!

But for more intensive and serial multi-tabbers and taskers, we have this i5 version as well: HP 15.6"/i5/8GB/128GB M.2 SSD+1TB HDD $755.25 delivered

    • +1

You have no idea what your talking about. I had a i3-6100 and was playing Doom (2016) and it ran flawlessly.

      • Thank you Flogbag.

SSD does makes huge difference. Basing on my personal experience; i3 + SSD ran better than an i5 I had with a SATA HDD.

      • -3

I am currently using a core M processor and it has difficulty at times. That said no need at all to be angry, lol it is as if I personally insulted you, iforgotmysocks and BrodenIt. I never claimed to be a computer expert, just going off wht I am experiencing at the moment.

Sheesh people on the internet nowadays…

        • well your not basing it on your experience, your experience is with a pos not a i3 which will gobble up tens of chrome tabs and a few other apps in it's stride with 8gb!

    • +2

I don't think you have any idea.

      • -1

I am going off what i am experiencing currently with core m processor with SSD.

    • +3

Ye,bro you need a overclocked i7 and a gtx 1080 to browse the web and play minesweeper at 1fps

    • What? Troll much?

  • -3

first 2 dont have full HD screen. pass

    • thank you for your feedback. we will try our best to get more better deals in the near future.

    • True, is there any sub $500 laptop with SSD and HD?

      • +1

        Hi Edsanwong.

Currently we don't have any offers sub $500 i3 with SSD + HD screen. This market is aimed for a budget range not many vendors have this type of configuration. If you do happen to come across any models with those specifications in the price range, please let us know. Additionally, we will keep this in mind.

        Thank you

        • I know. It was a sarcasm to sirrobin's comment

        • +3

@Edsanwong: Haha, went totally over my head with that!

      • Acer spin 5 was 650, i5-7200U, FHD and 256gb ssd. I would encourage everyone to get FHD, the difference is huge

        • -1

          And only double the price

        • @iand: how is 650 double

        • @mlburnian:
It's not 1/2 of $650 but where is it $650 best current price i can see is closer to $1000

        • @iand: search ozbargain for Acer spin 5

        • @mlburnian:
I have and the only "deal" listed that's not expired at the time of my comment is JB at $958.40 all the other deals listed had expired so are irrelevant to the discussion

        • @iand: lol ok

  • How is the warranty? 1 year or two years? Shop warranty or manufacturer warranty?

    • Hi Edsanwong, it's covered by a 1 year local Australian manufacturer warranty, and our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. All warranty is Australian local warranty, as the stock is all sourced locally from Aussie distributors. Thanks! Btw most HP laptops come with a 12 month manufacturer warranty.

      Thank you

      • How long is ACL warranty on laptops?

      • -1

And I bet you don’t do anything about it if something happens to the computer right? Worst company ever

        • Hi berataslan,

We process RA's everyday and fully support our customers with both assisting manufacturer warranty RA's, and also Consumer Law claims. Have you had a bad experience? If so, please send us a PM so I can get investigate this for you.

    • -1

They say it’s 1 year warranty and a manufacturer warranty but they never send anything there or try to fix it. I would never go for jw

      • +1

Berataslan, I am sorry to hear your dissatisfaction and negative feedback with our company. Regarding warranty - we have successfully processed countless warranty claims over the past 15 years. Our procedure is as follows; If a customer brings back a product to us within a warranty period (both manufacturer/consumer) to claim a warranty, we send it off to the supplier to assess/repair/replace the goods on the customers behalf.

Our goods come also come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Let me know if I can help in any way.

Thank you and have a great weekend.

    Subbed

  • If only I received 20% off voucher :(

    • +1

You would only get an extra $20 off so not much of a difference.

      • Thanks, all I saw was 20% and didn't think much further.

  • Hi JWComp,
do you have any deals on an i5 HP Elitebook x360 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD?
    thanks.

    • Hi Trevor99

      how about Spectre X360, i5 7200, 8GB, 256GB $1548 or i7-7500 8GB 256GB $1699

check out our deals here https://www.jw.com.au/deals

      • thanks but need the specific model for my child's school

        • No worries. Wish I could help :(

  • +5

Not sure why 1366 x 768 resolution is still a thing. Screen is the deal breaker.

  • +1

i5 variant comes with Full HD screen, while the i3 variant's don't. please update the post!
    I think it's a good deal on the i5.

    • Thanks for pointing that out - I have updated the post!

  • Hey rep, out of curiosity is this price sustainable for you or are you just clearing stock? HP has quoted us around $800ea for similarly specced 11.6" laptops lol

    • HP website is always overpriced though.

That said, on Static Ice, it shows other retailers selling for over $800 as well.

      • Wasn't public website, was a bulk education quote.

Was more just curious if HP is even giving us any kind of wholesale/bulk discount - seems like we're paying equal to or above retail..

    • +2

Hey Dyl! More of just a business decision to clear some excess stock..

$800 11.6" laptops.. Which ones? Are these for a school/office? Send us a PM and we can get our BDM/EDU Manager to contact you and see if we can help! :)

      • Thought that might be the case, seems like quite a bargain price.

We were looking at the 430 G5. It's actually a 13.3" screen, rest of the specs are basically identical. It's $900 with 3 years next business day warranty (around $800 without the extra warranty).

I don't believe we can buy elsewhere due to agreements between HP and the education department, was more just curious how much we're getting ripped off by HP. In my opinion the $900 mark is well into i5 range, borderline i7… But that's how it is these days I guess.

  • +1

Is there a way to add in another SSD? 128GB after formatting & w/OS doesn't leave much space. :(

    • Hi Geekomatic - Sure there is. We can supply another size SSD (i.e: 240/512GB) and clone from OEM to the new. Send us a PM if you want further details :)

  • Hi Rep, can we purchase additional warranty from your store?

    • Hi Frankly Frankie,

As long as HP has a SKU for extended warranty for that particular model, of course!

      Which model were you after?

  • +1

    1366x768, no thanks

  • Those are great deals but I want to wait for the new model to go on special. It's going to be a long wait :)

  • Any hot deals on models with AMD APUs?

    • Hey dcash! Not at the moment, but will definitely be posting them up if any come along!

  • -2

Yea guys do not trust jw computers as their customer service is the worst and they only rip you of. They’re only nice until they sell something. Worst company ever. They are reported to the fair trading so many times. Be careful

    • +1

They seem to have generally favorable reviews. Do you have any proof to back up your assertion?

    • +2

      Berataslan,

Here is the current Fair Trading Public Register for the past 24 months which shows the list of highest registered Fair Trading Complaints (which we aren't listed on FYI) : Fair Trading Complaints Register 2016/2017

It's disheartening to know you felt the need to comment 3 single times on this post to voice your borderline-defamatory comments of our company.

In saying that - I am extending my hand for the third time on this post alone, to PM us with some details of your purchase/transaction which you aren't happy with, so I can investigate this for you and see what possibly went wrong.

      Regards,
      Andre
