Great price, cheapest I have seen for an Australian PS4 slim. You can always add more storage to this console or swap out the HDD.

    Wow, a $44 premium for the 1TB? Current parts prices show that a 1TB HDD is about $7 more than a 500GB…

    • hmm yeah I don't know whats up with that. best bet is to just get the 500gb console and buy an external hdd.

      You can't really apply that logic to game consoles. The difference in storage capacities in these PS4s is how they segment the market and the pricing.

      It's much more exaggerated in Apple products — look at the yuuuge price increases when you increase the NAND storage on their tabs and phones.

        I think MrZ picked up on the fact that the PS4 allows users to swap the internal HDD with relative ease whereas with iphones and xBox ones, you have to stick with the internal HDDs you bought the unit with.

        In the case of PS4s and Xbox Ones, this isn't as much of an issue now as you can easily connect an external 8TB HDD to boost storage. Having said that, I do notice that the PS4 does intermittent checks on data that's been stored on my external drive and it takes a long time to do so, rendering games on the external HDD inaccessible. There's been a similar issue on xbox one but the checks don't take as long as the ps4.

        • Actually, I didn't, but thanks for pointing that out. My figures are here though: WD Blue 500GB - $55. WD Blue 1TB - $62. The price difference is so small that most computer shops don't even advertise or stock 500GB drives anymore (as if anyone would buy one to save the $7?!).

  • I think their 1Tb version with a game such as fifa18 was about $380

    Damn, I miss those times were you were basically able to get the PS4 Slim for roughly 200AUD. JB HIFI please have that offer again!

    • I'm guessing you're referring to a past Amex offer which doesn't apply to the majority and therefore isn't much of a comparison.

      • +1

        Nope, referring the great good Friday sale, available for everyone.

        • Could you provide a link of the deal?

        • +1

          @Lorindor: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/302147 Sell the remote and controller and there you go.

        • +1

          @PictureMeBroken:

          I doubt you would be able to get $100 for the controller/remote.

        • @Lorindor: 299- Newsletter voucher = 284.05AUD. I can guarantee you that with the hype of the PS4, it was no issue to sell one controller and the remote together for 80AUD back in April this year. Therefore bringing it down to roughly 200AUD. No matter if you doubt it or not.

        • @PictureMeBroken:

          Regardless, you are referring to a unique deal in which you had to do a lot to get it for that price, so there was never a time when PS4s were $200 consistently.

        • -1

          @Lorindor: Well, probably less than 10 mins effort on Gumtree mate and 2mins to get the voucher. And I never claimed it´s a consistent deal, just read what I said. Whatever, enough off topic.

          To post the ad perhaps, then you have to wait for it to get interest, deal with low-ballers, actually meet for the sale or post if selling interstate.

          And I never claimed it´s a consistent deal

          You words were I miss those times, it was only one time and not as straight-forward as you made it out to be.

        • @Lorindor: Wait to get interest? Work in the meantime mate and just check it on the bus mate, what´s the fuzz? Meet? Have a coffee in the city and give it to the person quickly, takes a minute. Well if that´s not worth having a brand new PS4 with warranty for 200 quids then I don´t now. Also the white one is probably even worth way more by now, but I agree mate we won´t agree.

          @PictureMeBroken:

          I never disputed the worth of the deal mate, I just don't think it's as easily obtainable as you made it out to be.

  • Guys, it's in stock again. Just bought it~ \(≧▽≦)/

    • Thanks for letting me know.
