This was the first Xiaomi product to intrigue me but at $50+ was always a no-go, at $30 and some pocket change, I'm looking forward to it.

      They have several others but this by far is the best of the lot which is why the demand for it has continued and it has not dropped in price too.

          Their latest offering the Xiaomi Mi Smart Network Speaker is supposed to be really good but it's in a different league because of the price & weight.

      This is 2nd generation and its even slightly better
      Compare to 1st gen
      - better battery life
      - faster bluetooth connection (BT 4.2 vs 4.0)
      - has a 3.5mm audio port

      But for the Cons
      2nd Gen doesn't comes with MicroSD card slot
      So you will need to hook up with a player / phone

      For those that are interested

          Sound quality would be pretty close between the 2
          While the 1st gen is slightly louder as it has 3w x 2 output compare to 2.5w x 2 for 2nd gen

    I have one of these. Great little speaker, good sound quality and volume.

      Neither has my second one…

      The first arrived very promptly (I think a couple of weeks from order?) but the second has allegedly - according to the terrible Chinese DPEX site that I found - been in Sydney since the 6th of December. No movement since then.

      Seeing as the site says "has it been 25 business days" then I must admit it had not been… I ordered on the 29th of November from memory.

      I guess I'll wait until after all this Christmas crap to be over before I can really get at it anyway. sigh

      This'll be the first less than perfect experience with Gearbest, though I'm expecting a couple more bad ones - I'm trying to claim a warranty for a couple of cheap products that were faulty. I guess I send them back under my own cost? What a shame.

      Anyway, hope my package gets moving on from Sydney soon…
