        Yes, 100%. I do it all the time. The real jackpot is when the gift card is on sale and its double staff discount days!! Staff discount even works on the prepaid Visa Gift cards. Yesterday I purchased the $100 Good food gift card, on sale for 20% off. scans at $80, then after staff discount became $76, paid for with discounted egift card total cost came down to $72.20

          @Diji1: $100 Visa gift card + $5.95 activation fee = $105.95 - 5% staff discount = $100.65 paid with discounted egift card = $95.62. Ive done this hack also. Mainly when there was bonus points attached to the visa gift card, which made it even better value. I paid my rego last time round with 7 of these visa cards!!

      I dont think this works if you use an evoucher to pay for the gift card though. I'd seen in the past that my Woolworths points earned were reversed where i'd used an evoucher to pay for a gift card?

    So i can go buy $50 ultimate card after purchasing my egift card first.
    Is it only the $50 ultimate card offers $5 no higher value ultimate card on this deal?
    How many times do you get the 1000 points which has value of $5 only once or each time you guy one?
    Was looking to buy egift card for whatever value im thinking of spending so say i just wanted 2 x $50 ultimate teens cards,i buy my egift card to value of $100 obviously get 5% off that.
    Then with my egift card i go buy one ultimate teens card at $50 im given 1000 pts/$5 in rewards.
    I then go grab another card $50 and use my rewards points i got from first to make it $45.
    Would have been more ideal if it had just been money off cards.
    Shame i dont know anyone at woolies to gain extra 5% staff discount.

    I thought you could not buy gift cards with egift cards?
    If you can then i get 1000 pts which is $5 and can use that against my other ultimate teen card.
    But then saying that are you not supposed to have 2000 pts before you can use it.
    Im looking to use this gift card at jb hifi but it would have preferred if it had been reduced than given points.

    This deal is crap unless you want some extra points,i thought you could use points from your rewards but not.
    I had $10 in my rewards so got myself a egift card to try this out thinking i save on egift card and get $10 off with my rewards card. But you can't use rewards cards credit on gift cards as first thought,not only that gaining these points i thought i could use them futher on other cards but if it dont work with a $10 credit in my rewards card already then extra points will not.
    I remember buying these cards a while back last year maybe where there was a % off each card you purchased similar to skype cards etc you get on offer but was with coles.
    This was better your paying less for the card. Only thing i was gaining here was a little on a egift card and points to use on some shopping. The plan was to pay as low as i could for the cards which never worked out.
    Well least i know now rewards cards dont work with gift cards.

      I bought some “discounted” Jetstar ones earlier this year. Bought a $100 gift card and 2000 points applied. When I bought the next $100 gift card it only charged me $90 plus gave me 2000 points. Is that not how this promo works?

    Maybe crap for you, but Along with the bonus points, my staff discount, and pay with egift cards, a $100 JB card (untimate teen) just cost me $85.25 per card and that doesnt include the credit card points for buying over $2000 worth of discounted egift cards .

      Yes you get the points but your not able to use it on gift cards ie ultimate teens card ss i tried in a few stores and it never took $10 off,staff even said it dont work,so only thing i gained was a few dollars buying a egift card and the 1000 points to my rewards which the plan was to reduce the cost of card in first place.

        I made nearly $200 in woolworths points for just buying gift cards. Im happy to use that to spend on groceries, or convert it to almost 17000 qantas points.

    Has anyome tried buying more than 10 . Do points still accrue? I know the t&c says 10 per WW reward card but they dont usually enforce this . Specifically referring to the Ultimate teen cards

    I went and picked up 5 today. Worked just fine with egift card, and got the $10 off each gift card (except the first one but have $10 in my account now for my next shop) so worked out to be $85.5 for a $100 card :) Two of the cards wouldnt straight away register my $10 credit on the account (from the previous gift card purchase) but i just pressed back from the payment page and scanned my woolworths rewards card again and it worked.

    For 2 of the gift cards i needed the attendant to come an log onto the screen as a "verify activation" message came up for some reason. But they scanned their little card and it was all good. :)

    Egift cards work on. buying the cards but you can't use your rewards points/$10 credit towards the card tried it in several stores and even at normal check out and a few staff members said you can't use rewards credit on gift cards even says online you can't.
    Tried it and not just once and ok good to get the extra points etc for shopping etc but my main reason was to make the overall card even cheaper.
    So its not really good to me as main reason was to gain the points which then turns into $10 and use on gift card on offer here.
    Egift cards work fine in buying the card but can't use rewards credit against it.

    Has anyone tried this in NSW? I tried buying JB hifi gift card one and scnanned my discount card. I didnt get any additional 5% off. And I rang up and apparently you cant use an egift card to buy a gift card..

      You can buy egift card to buy gift card it worked ok for me,it was using the points I gain from any Woolworths shopping or from buying these cards where I had credit to use,which I could buy day to day shipping but it would not allow me to use against the gift card I was buying.
      I had $10 in my card prior to buying this gift card in the hope I could get $10 off and then pay remaining with egift card.
      But it just did not work the $10 off gift cards tried several places all same and it even says on everyday rewards you can't.
      Yes to above poster I'm repeating myself as I don't know how it worked for you and not me unless wa is different but honestly can't see that.

        To add to the confusion. I got another question

        Can i use those 4000 points ($20) to buy Myer gift card?

        My Plan is to

        1. Buy a $200 egift card from Cashrewards and/or Entertainment book (5%) off. $190 Cost
        2. Use that $200 egift card to buy a $200 Myer card. Get 4000 rewards points.
        3. Use those 4000 points ($20) to buy a Myer gift card.

        My guess is probably not?

        I am in NSW and i am wanting to try it tomorrow.
