Excuse me for being noob but what exactly is a wifi or Bluetooth adapter? Isn't wifi and Bluetooth built into everything these days?

    • +3

Most desktop computers don't have it integrated to the motherboard and a USB adapter makes a good alternative to an expensive pci adapter.

      • I'll just take your word for it ;)
Won't bother buying one though as everything I have is all wifi and bluetoothed up already :)

Geez, I reckon my toothbrush and my fridge will have wifi and Bluetooth soon

        • Your toothbrush will have own bluetooth to brush with toothbrush

        • @rob359: And wifi so it can email my brushing habits to my dentist :D

Depends some motherboards don’t have it.

      • +2

        Most boards don't.

Yes, its built in most of the newish tech gear. However with older desktops and refurbished units its not common to have'em. You can also mount the Bluetooth adapter/receiver on not so smart TV's to navigate via BT mouse/ keyboard.

For desktops, unless it's branded (like Dell) it won't come with BT or Wifi. There are a very small handful of models that have it built in.

At the same time, I don't expect a whole lot from a $1 item. Probably won't even find drivers for it.

  • Thanks I actually needed a Bluetooth adapter and they're a bargain at $1.98.

  • Bought both.

  • Thanks OP! Nice to have a break from the $1 light/fan deals. Have acquired far too many…

bought 2 wifi in the one order :)

    • and I just missed out :(

      • says In Stock to me! dont forget the code

  • I hope the WiFi adapter has driver support in Raspbian. Time to get the old Raspberry Pi onto Wifi :-) If not, not a big loss for $1.29.

  • Damn wifi adapter deal expired :-(

    • Did you buy the BT adapter first? I think you can use either code only once.

      • Actually I wanted the wifi adapter since its the best deal. Jumped on it as soon as I saw it but missed out :-(

Then I bought the BT adapter

  • Wifi adapter expired :(

  • Thanks, needed a bluetooth adapter, and this company is up to xiaomi's level as far as i am concerned with product quality, so it should be just fine.

  • thanks.. got 1

  • wifi deal expired?

  • whypaymo1 expired

  • whypaymo1 Expired

  • Darn got bluetooth and by the time I went to get the wifi that one expired =(

  • Bluetooth code expired as well ?

  • This is exactly what I need…. But I'm late…

  • Ordered 1 Bluetooth adapter using the relevant code for $1.29AUD (payed via Paypal and confirmed the amount).
However my receipt shows that I ordered both the wireless and Bluetooth adapters for full price. I'm hoping this is a system error and not something more sinister. Promptly requested the order to be cancelled.

Has anyone else had similar issues with GB?

    • What receipt? The invoice they send you with the order confirmation?

ORICO BTA - 403 Mini USB Bluetooth Adapter Dongle for Smartphone Tablet Speaker Headset Mice Keyboard Color:BLACK 115394501 3 $15.57
      Subtotal $15.57
      Grand Total $2.97

I got charged US $2.97 according to the email and paypal shows -$3.87.

They didn't have limits on the quantities, part of the reason they went so quickly I guess.

    • Your order confirmation will list the items at full price, but Grand Total will reflect discounted price.
The amount on your paypal receipt is what matters.

      • Initial Paypal details showed $1.29AUD. Confirmed the purchase for that amount and then received a Paypal receipt showing the full price for both items (~$9AUD), which also checked out with my bank withdrawal.

Received the refund confirmation email from GB.

  • damn not fast enough - I needed a Bluetooth adapter

any chance of more units please

    • Bluetooth is still up, wifi is out of stock …

      • all gone

  • Missed out the bluetooth adapter. Please bring more stock.

  • +3

  • +1
