If for some reason you prefer the genuine Xbox 360 Wireless N dongle, you can get it from Deal Extreme:

I'd be cautious of buying anything "genuine" from DX.

    • I agree with Stix. There are even some things there that are almost guaranteed to be fake despite having a "genuine" tag i.e. eneloop batteries and all memory cards.

      • Actually bought from them before, the packaging is pretty much identical to the real stuff you find in a store.

I no longer have the packaging, but it works like it should.

I guess with the madcatz adapter being this cheap you'd be crazy to spend $50 on something that could be a fake.

        • scrimshaw did you end up buying it? and have you bought from them before?
i'm getting 8 pound shipping rate and is uk plug adaptor same as ours?…i'm a noob XO

      • The eneloops are real. They are cheaper there because there is a new type out and dealsextreme is selling the old one which they probably picked up really cheaply.

    • The dealextreme ones are real, I have bought the G version previously, genuine Microsoft, but the Madcatz are more versatile in that they can be plugged into a ethernet switch to provide connectivity to more than one device. Great find, thanks.

They still make MadCatz geez… Back in the late '90s they made absolute useless crap. They hopefully have up'ed their game.

    • yeah I heard that did, but I have a MadCatz wii charging station, it blew the power cable for my wii, which goes through the charging station.
      pretty damn annoying.

      • Madcatz make the best arcade sticks at the moment. Google Tournament edition madcatz or something

  • Sorry, why can't u name EB?

  • I've been trying to find something to wireless bridge my 360, good price!

  • If you have other devices to wirelessly bridge, I recommend getting a Linksys WRT54G for ~$60 and putting DD-WRT firmware on it. That way, you'll have 4 network ports to use for TV, HTPC, other consoles, etc.

    • is that a modem router or just a router?

    • Yeah that would still just give you G speeds at double the price and the effort of finding and flashing the firmware.

      • Yeah, but it has a 4 port switch though so good for those who need to connect more than 1 device. There's probably an updated Linksys model now with N speeds. The firmware flash is dead easy too.

        • You need N to stream live HD TV, so Linksys WRT54G is a fail for that, as someone else mentioned fast ethernet switches are only $15, firmware flashing may be easy for technically inclined people, but the majority wouldnt find it so easy. You also void any linksys warranty the moment you flash with DD-WRT.

Good points. The WRT54G was good a few years ago but I guess with people needing to stream HD nowadays, B/G speeds just don't cut it…I just haven't been in the market for ages.

          This little bridge looks good.

  • You wouldn't need this for PS3 unless you specifically wanted Wireless N.

    • guess it'd give a better connection.

  • Quick question, don't wanna buy the Sony wireless usb dongle that cost like a $100, so will I be able to connect this to my TV's ethernet port to serve as a wireless ethernet cable. And also whats the power consumption from this device, didn't find anything on google?

while the product is ostensibly for the Xbox 360, it's actually platform independent—you could use it to supplant the integrated G Wi-Fi of a PlayStation 3, or to wirelessly network any other Ethernet device (PC, TiVo, Slingbox, etc.). Moreover, you can network several devices via one the Mad Catz adapter by using an inexpensive (as little as $15) Ethernet switch.

so basically it should work for your TV, since it's pretty much just a generic ethernet wifi bridge.

  • that router can be bought at umart for 29 dollars which is about the same price as this however you get 4 ports however u sacrifice N speeds. so i guess to ways to look at it

  • free shipping

    not bad

  • Could this act as a wireless access point? For example, if I decide to go to a mates place and he doesn't have wifi.. I'll just plug the ethernet port into his router, and boom! Wifi available?

  • I've been trying to find something for my tv and blu-ray… I had a WRT54G but if you look at their reputation you will find they have a fault… At some point the 4-ports will die for no reason and become useless. That's what happened to me. If anyone find a cheap way to get DLNA and WIFI bridge with at least 2 ports for wireless N. Please let me know.

    • Would something like this help? Not sure about the DLNA but it's a 2 ethernet port bridge for wireless N.

      http://www.amazon.com/IEEE802-11n-Wireless-Multi-Function-MZ…

I've been looking to do something similar. I wonder if I'm able to hook a single port wireless bridge into a router to connect my living room devices wirelessly to my modem router (which is in another room). Some files I'm trying to stream through to the PS3 are very jerky makes me think that I need more than wireless G.

    • Have you got any links regarding the ports issue on the WRT54G? I've been running 2 with DDWRT firmware for years with no issues.

  • Many of the companies recommend you use both their wifi modem/router with their wifi bridge/AP. I'm not 100% sure about this next part though… I think for it to run smooth they both need to be dual band… Send and receive at the same time, rather than use the one channel for TX and RX. Some devices have two antenna's this however does not necessarily mean they are dual band (It can be a misconception). So I think the best way to go is to use a dual band modem/router with a dual band bridge/AP. Make sense? Please anyone correct me because I've been looking around the net for a few months now… And I just don't think any salesmen know enough about this tech yet.

  • So I'm guessing it includes a UK plug?
EDIT - Nvm, it comes with a UK plug.
And has anyone got coupons for this?
    Thanks.

  • how do you get this for $27 ?

    • I'd like to know as well. It looks to me as if its $35 AUD realistic.

    • The price has gone up. I guess they realized the item was getting popular with 500 click throughs.

      • Lol bagged two while the going was good
