Its a shame that so many idiots vandalize these bikes. It proves that australian cities are not civilized enough to have share companies such is obike operate. Imagine a share car company operating and then having idiots drive the cars into the river 'because its funny'

Those found to be vandalizing peoples property should be jailed and/or fined.

You just need to go out for a night to see our country is not very civilized.

Or just live in an apartment complex within 5 km of a capital city

    how are they making money?

so many of these in the yarra

    • +1

very few in yarra compared to the thousands that have on the street.

how do they make money …… they are expensive in my opinion per hour to rent but cheap to make ….. heck steel frame not aluminium and no gears …… probabaly $50 bike to make in china.

if you regularly commute it’s cheaper to buy your own bike if you have the room.

    • Selling data, where do people go, how far they ride, where do they stop, what time of the day the bikes are used the most, etc… sounds trivial but it could be very valuable for a taxi service or public transport to see where there are needs for transport, or where and when people are likely to look for a ride, etc….

  • How long can you rent these bikes for? Thinking of doing a long bike trip this weekend..

    • -1

they are heavy for a long trip and have no gears.
some people lock up these bikes with a chain lock so they are handy where they want them eg outside your house or the shop so it’s there when you finish shopping.

      • some people have no idea what the word share means.

  • This is good for corals

  • It would only be worth it to ride it to a nearest tree and prop it up there

    • +2

if people put in as much effor in writing a resume as is required to get one of these up tree they would get a promotion ….. they are heavy bikes and it’s damn dangerous to try and get one up into a tree ……. and for someone to have to get it down again.

like the idiots that put tacks on the road in the bike lanes.
