P5OZZIE

Aged 9, Debbie (real name removed for privacy reasons) returned from school and sadly confessed to her mother she was naughty in the classroom, so the teacher punished her. "She said I must wear this watch for 4 weeks."

Mum dialled rapidly while vowing to sue the DoE tomorrow. "Hello? Yeah whatever! Never mind all that get Tracy Grimshaw to the phone immediately!" Outside, Debbie showed Grandad the execrable horological repugnance, which he recalled appearing better online.

"Debbie or whatever your real name is, that myopic teacher won't notice you wearing a superior timepiece. I'll order one after securing a nappy to this chicken's bottom. On OzBargain that nice gentleman PJC just posted two Citizen Eco-Drives."

Hang on, when i got up this morning nowhere on my 'to do' list did it say "check spelling of execrable and get a shot of Jules Verne".

    • +2

That worried me a moment. My horoscope didn't predict a spelling error this year.

      • +2

Great to see some watches for chicks. Good work PJC.

        • +1

Thanks, usually when I find good deals for women's watches I can't post due to quantity.

        • +1

Does it go with the nappy though?

        • @havebeerbelywillsumo: Here's someone who may know

        • +1

@PJC: G'day I have set up alerts everywhere I can for this particular watch : https://www.citizenwatches.com.au/fd2010-58a.html
If you find a good deal on it can you please let me know ?

        • @AussieB: I will if I come across it. Of course you know StarBuy have sold out.

        • @PJC: Yeah, and they haven't had it on sale since at least December of 2016. I had informed of my interest to their rep way back then.

        • @PJC: Thanks for the effort mate. They are sold out too :( .. :'( - what is about this watch !
Dropped a line to their rep anyhow.

        • @PJC: Found it ! On sheils.com.au - never bought from them before - hopefully they will deliver.

        • +2

          @AussieB:

$199. Good work. That might be worth listing PJC. NB: not waterproof (WR 30m).

Odd, it doesn't come up in their listing of Citizen women's. None of the others are anywhere near as heavily discounted. Me wonder if mistake dunno…

        • +1

@AussieB: Excellent timing! I checked Shiels yesterday and their price was nowhere near $199. They have free delivery for over $99.

        • +1

@AngryChicken: Dang. Not waterproof ! Thats a bummer. Heck, my responsibility ends with sourcing it :P

        • @PJC: It must be my lucky Monday. Thankfully, I didn't check or wouldn't have bothered checking today.

        • +2

          @AngryChicken:

          Me wonder if mistake dunno…

Might be worth confirming with Shiels that it is new unopened and not returned/display stock. The 'sale' watch I ordered from them turned up covered in dust with scuffs and missing tags, and creased box and manual pages - though my experience may have been a one-off.

        • @Thrift: Good advice.

  • +1
    • Quite good for bus trips I suppose.

  • +3

Thank you PJC for that entertaining but painfully torturing story.

  • +4

Woohoo. Thanks OP, for both the story and deal. Got the FB4000-53A for $190 delivered after my ‘make offer’ of $200 was accepted.

    • +2

Good result and a very impressive watch for $190 delivered.

  • +1

    Haha, great deal PJC

  • +2

    for FB4013-51A - $160 accepted
    Coupon discount 5% = $8
    Paid $152 delivered
    Assuming 1% CR on original pricing - (699x1%), = ~$7

    Final ( if CR works) = $145 :)

    Thanks OP

    • Superb result!

    • Cashback on original pricing? Yeah nah.

      • usually is.

        • On the 699 price you reckon? You only get cashback on the amount you paid (including discounts).

        • @TheOneWhoKnocks: no not the $699 price, the price listed on ebay before coupons my last ebay orders via CR with 20% off (in Aug) showed CR calc'd on the list $200 price, but I paid $160.

        • @supabrudda: Yeah I was referring to the 'original price' as $699.

  • +2

Making histories there with every single post, PJC

  • How to find out the cheapest offer I can offer? Tried $160 for the diamond one, no luck

    • Keep trying in $10 increments and report back. You already know $200 worked.

  • +1

Probably gone in the next 30 minutes lol

  • +1

Just tried $190 and $195 with no luck and got it for $200, so, the best offer you can get will be $200, i suppose that's the minimum price they set. :)

    • +1

Still a good result though - $190 with P5OZZIE. Now 9 available/5 sold in the last hour.

  • +3

Not sure about these models but my Eco-Drive has been going for 10 years without any sort of maintenance. Waiting it to develop a fault to justify getting a smartwatch. Or not.

  • +1

Bought the Citizen Eco-Drive FB4000-53A for wifey but forgot to apply the discount code :( Tried $195 but no luck bought for $200…

    • You forgot the code? Blinking flip! 55 sold in last 24 hours.

      • +1

YEs, forgot to apply it during checkout. I hate it when you cant just apply the discount code in the cart before proceeding to checkout

        • +1

Ah well. By the power vested in me I hereby absolve you of all blame and residual guilt regarding your essential purchase of this luxury horological device. Amen.
