  • Do you have a some good friends you can talk to?

    • Uh not really. Im hoping to make more friends as i go to Uni. I grew up in a little country town and my tastes were quite differwnt to mamy others. I have a few decent friends but we're only friends becaus we grew up together and out oarents know each other more than anything.

      • Not too keen on the bogan staples of beer, sport and cars then? (Everything else is for poofs, of course).

        • Nah not too keen on the bogan staples or torn clothes, poor memory, no teeth, no manners and no self respect.

        • @MrSammyMcG: I thought bogan covered that.

        • @D C: that word is has loose meaning around here. A lot of wogs tend to be 'bogans' too and they dont really like sports or cars too much but definitely alcohol

        • @MrSammyMcG: Bogans exist in all cultures, boganosity is one on the universal constants. (Bosons, like the discovered Higgs, are mis-named due to a translation error.)

But anyway, my background is like yours. I see you mention parkour, that's certainly something only poofs do. The good thing about larger cities is no-one really gives that much of a crap about what you do.

          Don't go back 'home'.

        • @D C: i love parkpur as a form of meditation and a deep personal discipline. I hear people describ yoga rhat that way so maybe it is a poofy thing haha

        • @MrSammyMcG: Yoga! Definitely poof territory there! Hippy poofs at that.

Yeah, I'm familiar with the attitude.

          Reading a book? Poofter.
          Learning electronics? Poofter.
Learning programming? Poofter. And computers were a 'tool of the devil' as per the local clergy (well done dudes).
          Learning to cook? Poofter.
          Learning anything? Poofter.

        • @D C: hahaha yes that definitely sounds right coming from a small town and whenever anything doesnt work as expected its the fools fault and you shouldnt ever use it because of that.!

    Helidon?

    • Yeah thats the one sadly.

      • Nice town, I remember hauling explosives into Helidon with my dad on the school holidays.

Oh really thats cool. Yeah i serve a lot of people from the explosive factory, Toll and the like at the shop that i work at.

  • How is it living and growing up in a country town?

    • Pretty empty, but when i lived with my parents we were in a great location between Gatton and Toowoomba. You get to know people pretty quick and i have especially so sinc working in the only store there but most people are pretty nasty bogan/ junkie types or from generatuons of people who have lived here for ages and seem to stick together.

What video game are you playing / been playing lately?

    • +1

A lot. Mario Odyssey, Zelda BoTW, Prey 2017, Horizon Zero Dawn and the ever faithful Titanfall 2.

  • Do you know about the Gatton murders?

    Good on ya for volunteering.

    • Nah which Gatton Murders and arent you the dude from the acting AMA?

  • What are you doing at uni next year?

    • +1

Bachelor of IT in Computer Science; still thinking about it but probably will add a Bachelor of Engineering in electrical engineering (or whatever the degree is called) assuming im not dead from the stress of Uni at the end of next year

  • Got a girlfriend, or boyfriend?

    • Nah man. Not many people in Helidon and i dont have all that many friends in toowoomba or around the place. Looking to meet more people and open some more opportunities at uni. Hbu?

    • -7

      He has nofriend.

  • Video games, parkour, IT, firefighter… you'll get a girlfriend straight away when u go to uni man ;).

    • Thanks I hope so. Im looking forward to Brisbane so i can train parkoue better. Ive only been a volunteer firefighter for a year but ive been training parkour on and off since i was a kid but cities are far far easier to train in and id actually like to be able to do it regularly.

      • Got a parkour clip?

        • Nah i train too infrequently and i cant really so flips, thats more free running anyway and tends to be more of what people want to see.

  • Do you think you are wasting your youth in a small town or, like the mellancamp song….gonna die in a small town and thats good enough for me hey ?

    • Yeah i really do, hence why I want to get out. There are no people or opportunities here unless you are a farmer like my parents are then maybe theres something.

  • Red or Blue?

    • Like colours in general or football QLD vs NSW?

      • Colours.

        • Oh right. Probably red i think its quite passionate and certain in itself. This may be a strange conclusion to draw from discussing colours but this is the kind of thing i look for in people and the kind of people in generally most attracted to. Definitely red.

  • What have you been doing for the past 2 years?

    • Uh nothing really. Working in a small shop and trying to get my license and a car which i now have thank god. Ive been really confused about what to do with myself and my life since finishing school. Kind of been on my own since then and it really sucks so im looking forward to getting out more and seeing people at Uni which i kind of did as a last minute thing this year but im glad i did so far. I got accepted early too considering i did fairly well at school which is really encouraging.

      • No pressure from the parents to go into the family business?

  • Do you find there to be value in solitude?
