@manic: Would a 'free' 'cure' for cancer also be OK? Or is it only religious belief that you view as not needing to have any evidence to support its claims?

Is religion a 'special' product, beyond questioning and scrutiny and deserving of uncritical 'respect'? If so, then congratulations, you have fallen for the PR campaign that Christianity has used for the last 50 years or so.

          @Rayve:
You are preaching to the choir.

    • +3

No. The issue is the favoritism showed. It's an advertisement wrapped in a book that doesn't belong as a deal. We're fine with it being in the forums. Otherwise I'm going to start posting free shop catalogues as deals.

      • yay free shop catalogues deals

Do you think all the natives of the Americas thought Christmas was a great holiday when the colonials were enslaving and killing them ?

DO you think we shoudl celebrate Hitlers birthday and ignore the rest of his insane hatreds and violence ?

  • +3

Sorry, should be in the forum. Not a bargain at all.

    • -1

Watch out. You'll get told you're not being tolerant. Just let people live their lives

Edgy atheists stay pressed as usual. Unsurprised.

Oh, you mean people who at least try to base their worldview on actual evidence complaining about people trying to sell their version of voodoo to the rubes! Right on!

    • +1

Anyone using the internet is a casual atheist at minimum. Christians don't even have a speed of light constant just to make an old book work in cubits and to measure the age of the universe in countable word-of-mouth human generations. Our conversation right now disproves creation if you cared to research the technology. What's that? Communication satellites have atheist time dilation correction and no Christian universe correction.

    • You'd love a group called the KKK. Religious as.

  • Seriously people this is not a religious debate. Leave it as a deal if you guys find a comic book relating to how no religion exists and went from $2 to free just post it. Let the deals do the talking this arguement is just ridiculous.
People have a choice to believe in faith its no ones right to push faith or deny faith

Unfortunately, you have to write a comment if you want to neg a deal. That's why!

    • +1

unfortunately, free propaganda doesn't stand as a deal, no matter whether its religious or not. yet a certain mod disagrees with this.

"People have a choice to believe in faith its no ones right to push faith or deny faith"

Or try to hijack the SSM bill based on their belief right? Who's pushing who?

A free book on how to become a prisoner to the invisible sky wizard is not really an Oz Bargain IMO - there are many strings attached that on any other bargain you would have to declare or get negged.

Oh and every Christian religion I know of expects a tithing out of every pay so this bargain could cost you money in the long run.

Do you really want Church of Scientology free advertisements? Heaven's Gate? Lil Markie CDs?

  • Thanks!

Can anyone confirm how well this works as kindling, my usual junk mail has been too plastic lately.

    • +1

Lol, so true. Light junk mail and it actually just goes out these days. I have to collect the free local papers from the shopping centre.

The way to an Ozbargainer's mind is through their stomach, with free everlasting bread made from flesh and unending wine made from blood and bon bons containing low self discharge batteries. Call it a meetup.

    • Take heed of this gospel. The frugal will gain everything he requires in time. Repent of the sin of mindless consumerism. The patient man waits, vigilant while the fool rushes in.

Praise be to the reps who sacrifices much to bring us the savings! Praise the mighty Xiaomi.

Can anyone please confirm if that other fictional character, Santa Clause, features in this?

      Username doesn't check out.

The brainwashing "deal" has quite a few more negative votes than most. Good to see. I thought propoganda was always free.

  • How is this world still believing in religion of any kind?? It's fantasy that people made up in a primitive time to explain things and find meaning for life. No one thinks of the Greek gods or Norse gods as real why would you believe in a virgin birth and a man walking on water, rising from the dead. Come on these stories were set in place to give you morals and keep people in check so they don't do bad things. Funny how religion has made the worst people in existence and made people fight wars that could cause genocide over fake beliefs…. People are so easily led and refuse to think or learn for themselves. Just because your parents believe doesn't mean you have to. Watch the documentary Zeitgeist to get a better understanding of the trickery of religion

  • Don't let this distract you from the the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, Bubba "Spare Tire" Dixon

Religions that don’t change risk becoming irrelevant and becoming myths.

    Ie. No-one worships Zeus anymore.

  • Came today…first thing to read….god made the world..

  • Got mine today, awesome thanks!! Beautifully illustrated and presented. Worthy of more than the normal $2 and bargain for free with postage.

  • Can the title be preceded with [FICTION]?
