IMHO, this is one of the best value onroad RC car for under A$100 you can buy that can supposedly get to an insanely max speed of 70km/hr.

I already ordered one as a Christmas present for my teenage son.

The coupon can only be used once per account, but allows 2 pieces to be ordered in a single order.

Shipping cost is listed as US$2.99 if only ordering one car. But shipping cost drops down to next to nothing at US$0.12 ((~A$0.16) for the whole order if ordering two pieces, making the total US$98.42 (~A$129.68) delivered for the two cars, or US$49.21 (~A$64.84) per car.

Please note that this is a coupon code I got from a GB rep on another forum. I have no idea how many pieces this code is valid for. I thought with Christmas coming up, some of you with kids might be interested in getting this as a Christmas present for your kids.

Both BangGood and GearBest also sell lots of spare parts for this car. So if you break it, you can order spare parts easily to fix the cars, rather than binning it.

For those of you who are into mods, here is a youtube link to someone who has upgraded the car to a better set of onroad wheels for about US$12-13. He even listed links to where he got them from in his youtube link.

  • It tells me code is for single unit only..
Never mind.. total sum comes as A$129.68.. all good :-)

  • My son wants a Traxxas Rustler but it’s $350 and he’s only 7. How does this compare? I’ve no clue when it comes to this kind of thing.

This car will probably be just as fast, but will be less durable by a significant margin. Then you have the problem that you cannot find parts and you have a $70 box of useless plastic.

Traxxas gear is harder to break and easy to find parts.

Your son WILL break the car, and likely in the first day.

Thanks… that’s exactly what I needed to hear. I suppose the Aldi one for $100 this week isn’t worth it either.

Personally I'd get one or 2 of these instead + spare parts, unless your son is highly skilled in his motor skills…
Give him something to smash around 1st, learn to repair, then if he sticks at it go for pro…
Driven mine about 30 times, replaced the main gear (gets lots of dust in there and wears out), tires 1/2 bald, nothing broken yet though

But yeah these will break more than a traxxas, but I'd expect the traxass to break too and cost more in parts, banggood, GearBest and various places stock heaps of parts, and metal replacements too, but mail order. Go traxxas if you want parts from a local shop (I assume)

  • 70km/h on a single gear is pretty impressive.. No Gear box though..

  • 70km/hr with a brushed motor? Hmm I'm skeptical. Can anyone verify?

  • Can it be used at the beach ? is it SAND proof ?

    • I think it's supposed to be waterproof, like it's cousin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvEUA7c7fag
Sand might get in the main gear though, buy some spares, the cover isn't effective at keeping out the fine dust, and it builds up, courser sand might not be an issue, especially the firmer beach sand

  • My wife tried to buy this for me but GB want her passport number and tax file number etc. Weird. Not providing that info to buy an RC car. Anyone found a way around that?

  • Gonna put one of these under the Christmas tree for myself and tell the kids Santa got it for me. lol
Will be curious to see if the paid $2.99 shipping is actually any faster.
