6x Movie Rentals from Hoyts Kiosks Via Optus Perks

930

You can redeem up to 4 free movies per transaction at Hoyts Kiosk. Optus will send you a code to use at the Kiosk.

I actually added 10x of these to my cart via Optus Perks, though I was only sent one code.

As Per Optus Perks:
Claim up to 6 free DVD movie rentals from more than 750 HOYTS Kiosks throughout Australia. Your promotional code is valid until December 31, 2017 at 11:59pm AEDT.

HOW TO REDEEM:
Visit any HOYTS Kiosk across Australia. After you have selected your movie (or select up to 4 movies), go to ''Checkout'', then select ''Enter Promo Code'', and enter your promotional code. Find your local HOYTS Kiosk here https://kiosk.hoyts.com.au/find-a-kiosk

  • Another good one from you.

Haha, found it when I was looking for the Cricket Australia live pass!

  • +1

Up voting because the Zohan is a good movie

    • +2

Haha. I'm an unashamed Adam Sandler fan. Don't Mess With The Zohan was his best movie since Happy Gilmore IMO. Underrated :P

      • +2

Me too, they are great movies. I think my favourite was Click. Have you seen his recent movies on Netflix?

        • +1

Most of them, I'm saving The Meyerowitz Stories for Friday night.

I appreciate he's an acquired taste, but the movies don't pretend to be anything other than what they are - silly.

        • +1

@TheZohan: Oh awesome, I didn't know about that one. I love Adam Sandler movies.

  • +2

    Great, thanks!
Reading the reviews online makes me worry about using it though. Seems like the machine often doesn't work and incorrectly charges people…

    • +3

I've used it a couple of times with no issues, though that's not a large sample size.

  • Both Manaka and Woden kiosks in the ACT were closed the other day so I figured they must be closing up shop?

    • Video Ezy have just purchased Hoyts. Hoyts machines will be removed and replaced with Video Ezy

    • The Woden kiosk was working last night.

  • Ummm so what’s the code?

    • You need to 'order' it through Optus Perks, and they'll email it to you.

  • Nice! Thanks!

  • Thanks first offer I’ve got from optus :)

  • +1

FYI: I tried getting the deal twice and I was sent two different codes.

    • +1

      I Can confirm this.

However i tried ordering 2 DVDs in one transaction and the code only waived the fee for 1 of the 2 movies. I had to go through the process twice to get 2 movies (still used the one code though)

      • but then that counts towards your 6 right? so now you've used 2 of 6 ?
thought OP mentioned you can redeem 4 per transaction :S

        • +1

          Yeah I have 4 left. Got a new coupon so I'm assuming I have another 6 + 4.

Coupon didn't work for me with more than 1 DVD though

        • @WishIHadAfridge: You have to do seperate transactions if you plan to hire more than 1 dvd at a time.

  • how long is the rental period? it seems like one night to me

    • +1

Rent it for as long as you like… But only the first night is free! ;)

  • Thanks Op:)

  • Thanks OP, plenty codes around,

  • +1

I'd have to buy a DVD player, not a bargain :P

  • -1

forgive me for asking but who rents movies? lol

    • +1

Haha, it's reasonably inconvenient, but the price is right!

    • Do you actually want a customer breakdown (which would clearly be guardedproprietary info) or are you just wanting to be a smart arse?

  • +2

don't forget Two Free Rentals @ Hoyts Kiosk ends this month :)

  • how can we use this on ezy video kiosk? my closest hoyts kiosk is too far away..

  • Has anyone redeemed blu rays with this or is it only DVD’s….whatever they are?

    • +3

I haven't tested the codes yet, but if it is like the codes we usually we get then it should work for both blu rays and DVD's.

      • +1

        Thanks ShanB 👍

  • What’s the cheapest way to get access to Optus perks?

  • Find someone who has an optus account. I use my mums account.

  • Sorry our site is currently down!

Is it just me, or down for everyone too?

  • I tried to get 4 films today using my code, but it would only apply the discount to one of them. Tried removing a film, putting it back in, and re-entering the code to no avail. Do you seriously have to go through the credit card/email/phone number crap for every single film, or am I doing it wrong?

  • On Sunday visited two kiosks and they were only accepting returns, wondering if this was just for an upgrade or all movies were rented!

    • +1

That means in the next week or two that Hoyts Kiosk is going to be replaced with a Video Ezy Kiosk.

  • There was another post https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/340306 which linked to an email saying that Hoyts Kiosk is merging with Video Ezy Express.

Does anyone know what this means for Hoyts promo codes - will they now work with Video Ezy Express?

    • +1

I called Hoyts Kiosks' support to ask and they told me:
      - Hoyts codes will not work on Video Ezy Express kiosks
      - They are gradually replacing Hoyts kiosks with Video Ezy Express kiosks over the next 6-12 months, so in the transition time there will still be Hoyts kiosks around…

      • Can confirm the code doesn't work on Video Ezy Express kiosks

  • Last week there were two hoyts machines close by, now they are video ezy :(
