Great price, looks like grey import though.

    • Yup QD stuff are grey imports :)

    • Yeah, they claim it has a "1 year seller warranty".

      • I'm trying to return my faulty huaWei mate 9 pro. Anyone had any experiences with these guys for warranty?

    • Thanks. I’ve updated the title.

Thanks OP! Is this seller reputable?

  • Is it true that all local Aussie stock is single SIM only?

  • Normal S8 is $653.39 but only in orchid gray which is a shame but decent price

Think twice before buying from QD.

I bought a LG G4 from QD years ago. It died after 6mths. I contacted them to claim warranty but they didn't even reply me at all.

    • My huawei also died after not even 6 months. From them.I'll be filing my pay pal claim tonight.t thanks for sharing

Most grey imports don't have the right 700 mhz band which means the reception indoors is crap. I bought an international S7 edge from Shopping Square (ebay) and had no reception indoors. Walked outside and it was full. Sold it ASAP and picked up an S8 plus from Officeworks.

    • Isn't that just a firmware change?

      • Nope. I installed the Australia firmware from Samfirmware and the reception didn't improve. I did heaps of research and couldn't find a way around it. Took it to a Samsung store and they confirmed that the greys are lacking the right frequency.

        • Is that still the case for S8+?

Been running SM-G955FD and SM-G955F through https://willmyphonework.net/ and both seem to work fully in Australia

        • Despite them telling you that, I don't think that's true. It's possible there was an issue with the antenna.

Aside from some very specific requirements for some very specific markets, it's the F and the FD models that are sold globally, and that's what's being sold here. The firmware change should switch the channels being used at each frequency range.

        • @jasswolf:

Could the mobile carrier be a problem? I have a grey stock Samsung S4 active and have not had issues or is it mostly to do with the S8?

        • @s1n1st3r12: the poster is describing an issue with the s7 edge dual sim variant (SM-G935FD), but it's a firmware thing that can crop up depending on which regional software has been flashed onto the device.

@jasswolf: I had the SM-G935F. Anyway, that was my experience. May be better for others.

  • Does this really ship from Sydney?

    • +1

Via Taiwan according to the seller.

  • Did anyone pull the trigger on this one? Was thinking of getting the standard S8 version though but bit worried about what @jasswolf mentioned with grey import stock

  • Thanks OP. Ordered

  • Wonder if anyone loaded Telstra firmware on this version (FD) and got VoLTE working.

  • Thanks OP. Finally ordered. Let's see how fast their shipping is.

    • Just got carded!

Pretty damn fast considering it came from Taiwan

      • Lucky you!

My status still hasnt changed. Msg'd the seller about it and got a reply saying the ETA is mid next week…

Weird too cause I was one of the first few that placed an order on that day.
