Seagate the most unreliable brand out of all hard drives?

    • Far as I know, these are the only drives left that don't have the USB PCB soldered directly to the drive. Much better chances of getting your data back

      • Seagate sucks in general! They have the highest failure rate, wouldn't trust all my important data on their drives and end up losing them to a faulty drive later on.

You have the wrong attitude. The right attitude is: all drive sucks, plan for failure.

    • Nah, Ive had 3 x 2TB seagates and none have failed.

  • Don't forget the cashback!

  • Cashback by what friend?

    • Cash rewards, flybuys, Qantas Mall to name a few

      • Oh. Okay. Allright. Thanks buddy

  • Got 2 for $69 each from JB Hi-Fi today with $20 voucher!

    • I tried using my voucher today but they said it has to be tomorrow onward :(

      • Yeah, and before Christmas

  • Dammit. So what are the rest of us who bought the $79 deal supposed to do now? :(

    • +1

I’d say they didn’t move as fast as they thought at the previous price so dropped it. I’m going to not buy again in the hope others do the same and they drop again. It’s pretty dodgy to drop it this many times in the same day, I’d ask for a refund of the difference, can’t hurt to try.

  • 7.89 postage

    • $5.06 for me…

  • Nice can get this for $59 with $20 store credit on TGG's website.

    How many years of warranty?

Esit: says 3 years on description page. Enough for me to pull the trigger.

  • Nice price

  • That sweet sweet 71c cashback though :)

  • Time to replace my old ass 250gb usb2 one. Good find OP.

  • These ones still have sata drives inside?

    • I think so.
      So does this dude.

      Think i'll take the chance…

      • +1

When I bought the same model about 6 months ago, they definitely had a sata drive inside - model ST2000LM007

Might have changed since, but doubt it.

  • Cheers OP got one on the way :)
