PANTONE

Very good entry 4K TV for anyone with a fairly limited budget. Would be a great match with a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X given it’s low input lag. Currently around $988 - $998 on sale as part of Black Friday sales at JB HiFi, Harvey Norman and The Good Guys.

Cash Rewards brings it down to $790.

Good tv, great for xbox. Auto detects devices etc.

  • How does this compare to Kogan series 9?

I ordered the TCL 49” 49C2US. Looks like a quality 4k gaming TV on a budget from the reviews on rtings.com

I got it for $720 with free postage on Appliances central eBay store with the 10% discount.
Will be getting the Xbox One X this weekend and look forward to hooking them both up early next week!

Enjoy your new TV and One X, it's an awesome console! I was considering the C2 as well, looks like great value for money.

    • Hey man, these guys screwed up my order, so I’m not getting the Samsung. I’m looking at the TCL C2, how have you found it so far?

  • I find the lack of 3D bluray support in modern 4k TVs disturbing. Panasonic is my only friend right now. I'm prepared to die on my alter of 3D immersion over resolution. Come at me Ozbargain.

  • I have a feeling the AU MU6100 model is not the same as the US MU6100 in the Rtings review you've linked, but more similar to the US MU6300 model.

The MU6100 in the Rtings review looks like a different set, while the MU6300 has the same stand and body shape. They also come in the same set of sizes (The US variant also has a 40" model, while the MU6100 over there is only a 58".

Probably worth changing the review link, the US MU6100 seems like a worse overall TV than the US MU6300 that appears to be more equivalent to the MU6100 in the deal you've linked (surely Samsung could just come up with a logical product numbering scheme, but that would make things too easy…)

    • I think you're right, and that's the same consensus over at Whirlpool. But considering the deal expired at midnight and it only got 7 up votes, I'm not going to bother changing it.

  • According to this page, this model (UA50MU6100WXXY) is HDR but not HDR 10

    https://www.lifehacker.com.au/2017/09/hd-tv-2017-buying-guid…

As for what I understand, xb1x and ps4 are both support HDR 10.

    • There are currently two industry standards when it comes to HDR - HDR10 and Dolby Vision. This TV supports HDR10, but not Dolby Vision.
