  • I remember going into a supermarket when it opened once to rush in and grab a copy of Corel Draw that was on sale, my mother put me up to it. There were people fighting over them, over CDs full of clipart. This was many years ago.

I don't recognise the names of any of these programs, are any of them even worth a dollar alone?

    • I remember paint shop pro from many many years ago.
More to the point, I think Ashampoo Snap is worth the $1 - some good reviews out there on youtube showing their functionality (e.g. capture scrolling webpage, capture video, etc.)

    • If you don't recognize them, you don't need them and won't use them. So no.

      I can't see a 3 year asian VPN subscription worth $215.

      • Apparently this one is probably good for bbc iplayer. Quite useful for watching F1 if you don't have foxtel. Their servers aren't just asia based i.e. they have 40 or so across the world a user can use.

I'm yet to test it out, but here is the link where this is one of a set of reviewed vpn's, that is good for this use. Page is current as at 29 Sep'17.

        https://www.cloudwards.net/best-vpn-for-bbc-iplayer/

        • There are cheaper VPNs than $215 for 3 years (the value they are claiming).

        • I just tried connecting to the 2 uk servers vpn.asia run, and no, the bbc iplayer will not work. :(

Upon doing some research, I found that the BBC has implemented a scheme over the last month and a half to stop vpn users getting through. Very few vpn's networks can get a connection now, and the ones that can only have intermittent service.

i.e. once the bbc determine that there are too many users coming from a certain ip, it is blacklisted as a vpn ip. When the vpn provider rotates to a new ip, that one remains active til it is again blacklisted. And only certain vpn's follow this practice for it's users.

Oh well, at least I got Paintshop for cheap. :)

      • I think $1 for a vpn that works and isn't absolute crap is worth it.

        • Yes, I'm saying it's normally valued at $215 which is a rip off.

      • VPN is on there - number 6 when you click through the link.
(and it's not $1 as you need to beat the avg for that one.)

    • I was always more an Autodesk Animator kind of a guy. I still don't know what Harvard Graphics was supposed to do for me.

  • Great deal. Get in quick, as the avg price will slowly go up.

    Thanks OP :D

  • Windows users only :(
