Seven Year, Unlimited Kilometre Warranty & Seven Years Roadside Assistance on Most New Honda Vehicles Purchased by 31st December

952

Honda is offering a free upgrade to a seven-year, unlimited kilometre warranty across selected models until December 31.

The Japanese manufacturer only recently announced its standard five-year/unlimited kilometre factory warranty, though this latest promotion – launched in early November – takes it one step further to match current industry leader, Kia.

Models in the campaign include the Accord, City, Civic, HR-V, Jazz, and Odyssey. Interestingly, the new 2018 CR-V isn’t covered by the promotional warranty – though it’s available as an extra cost extended warranty.

And also from people not using genuine parts for their servicing, just fyi

        • Since manufacturers have their customary million per cent markup on parts, they're trying to impose this on the customers. I'm not even sure this is legal, as this seems to be against fair competitions. Absolute jerks.

        • @CocaKoala: You're right they're not allowed to do that. But by reading the non-bolded part of the sentence above "Improper repairs, or repairs rendered necessary or arising from", I don't think that's the case here. If a 3rd-party repairer did an improper job, or used faulty or under-specced parts that then caused a breakdown, then it's reasonable to have that covered by the repairer instead of the manufacturer of the car.

Some insurance companies also have a lifetime guarantee on repair claims. Not sure what their exclusions are but it should at least provide extra assurance against improper repairs that are discovered only after the 6-month/10000km warranty that repairers usually offer.

    • Honda's prices for servicing are only valid if you print off the prices from the web page and those prices are only valid for 30 days. Meaning the Jazz's ~$3,200 service cost for 5 years could be far higher.

If Honda's cost of servicing their 7 year warranty is high, guess which mandatory fee will suddenly increase? Honda won't even quote the last two years…

That is why this is not a deal.

Our Honda car has had capped servicing for a few years now and we haven't had to print off any prices to get it.

In one case we did get charged above the capped price for a service without even realising. Honda Australia later contacted us to advise of the service centre's error and refunded the difference.

        • That is really good to hear. Honda should update their capped price servicing offer to reflect this.

  • The real bargain was the 4 day sale purchased between 16/11/17 - 19/11/17 and at participating WA Honda Dealers purchased 15/11/17 - 18/11/17. All vehicles must be delivered before 30/11/17.

    • BONUS 7-Year Unlimited KM Warranty+
    • 7-Year Premium Roadside Assist
    • plus up to $1,000 bonus value on selected models.

    • BONUS 7-Year Unlimited KM Warranty+
      7-Year Premium Roadside Assist

Those 2 are on offer now… So comes down to the 'up to $1000 bonus value' and how good your negotiation skills are now.

      • they also have $1700 'factory bonus' atm

        • Where did you see that?

      • Taking about free included Roadside assist, I thought that all new cars would have road side assist included for the first 3 years and we were surprise that Mazda didn't. Japaneses cars are known to be reliable, though they would at least provide this in the rare event your new car broken down on the side of the road..

        • Not many do include it, mainly because it's just another charge they'd have to add to the RRP
$100/year (generally speaking) = $700 worth of roadside assist

"Seven Year, Unlimited Kilometre Warranty & Seven Years Roadside Assistance on Most New KIA Vehicles Purchased by 31st December",

    Kia? Should read Honda.

    • Yep my bad :/ Hadn't had enough coffee

  • Lol… link goes to Honda website for a KIA deal

    • +1

its a Honda deal but the heading wrongly says Kia

      • yeah… so if someone clicks the link from the deals page directly (not going to the details of the deal), then they will be like "what the …."

        • yeah confused the heck out of me when i opened it :)

    • Yep my bad :/ Hadn't had enough coffee

  • Did they take away features for the MY18 VTI Jazz? I could have sworn the MY17 VTI had alloys and the LED headlights standard?

Honda seems to be waking up and smelling the coffee at last. Absolutely not to critique this post, but I wonder what exactly does Honda think is very "promotional" about this though, given that the Koreans have been doing this for a considerable amount of time.

Holden has as well announced a 7 year warranty if I'm right, and I thought that was a painfully desperate move as they're being obliterated.

    • Holden's offer is a promotional offer, as is Honda's. I highly doubt that either are a long-term proposition.

      • Indeed, which is a bit alarming considering that Holden's sales has been plummeting like a rock down a cliff. And Honda seems to think that they could somehow get away with offering lesser warranty than Kia and Hyundai. Honda may have been a great innovator at some point in time (which was a long time ago in automotive terms), but they can't live off that glory forever.

If you buy a car purely based on a warranty (which basically requires dealership servicing anyway), you're an idiot.

There's so many more factors involved in a car purchase.

Holden's position has nothing to do with warranty (considering all the major players - Toyota/Ford/Mazda offer 3yr warranties). No, it has more to do with an identity crisis. When I worked there, the number of people that thought the whole brand was closing when local manufacturing closed was insane. Ford and Toyota haven't been caught up in this anywhere near as much as Holden.

Have you seen a KIA? How long have they been using the same engines and gear boxes?

They are built very well. How many manufactures provide a welded strut bar from factory across their range? Yes the Stinger is nice, but it was due in August and dose it really compete with the AMG CLA45 and 440i gran coupe?

      • Dose?

Matching is not a bargain. Also, wonder if OP is associated…?

    • -1

Did you report it? Unfortunately popular deals don't usually get removed.

    • -1

I'm not 100% sure but I think the OP may work for CarAdvice…

  • The only car made in Japan from Honda is Odyssey…what a shame.

I recall Integra and Prelude in the 90s, so much fun and nicely built

I had a prelude ATTS VTI-R 98. I kept for 9 years before I sold it after having a family

  • Why you no CRV Mr Honda? Something we don’t know?

  • Some people in the office are desperate to meet the sales target. Because if they don't, they won't be getting their bonus.

  • -1

Now they just need to make some good cars….

  • I order one last year with 3 years. I'm calling to find out if they will include.

  • WE use to love Honda back in the days….. We had 3 new Honda's in family and it has definitely lost it's mojo…..last good Honda car was Accord Euro…(jap made)

This is not a bargain. They get their money back on not dropping the price to the lowest point for the Roadside assist.
In fact, road side assist is useless for the first 7 years. As OEM parts are designed to last for around 7.5 years.

THIS IS NO BARGAIN. THIS IS SOMETHING YOU ARE PAYING FOR IN THE COST.

    • Any evidence to your claims of parts designed to break down?

  • Been driving the Honda CR-V for 9 years no single problem, so the promotion is just to attract more the new customers, I would prefer cash off rather than these kind of promotions.

  • Sigh, just got my Civic a little over a month ago

  • Whatever the reviews are about new civic, their are many new civic we can see on road.

  • 7 years free roadside assistance is just a better way of saying $750 discount which is not that uncommon.

  • I had a thai made 2007 civic and it was prefect.
