I got one from the Target sale for $49.
The claims of 2 hours battery life are complete bogus. I get much more than that out of mine. Maybe it's 2 hours battery life if streaming to 3 devices at once?
Also, the claim that you can't use it while charging is also incorrect. Haven't done this in a while but if you turn it on, then plug it in (or plug it in, then turn it on - can't remember but think it's the first) it works then.
Finally the claim that you can only transfer data really slowly wirelessly is wrong. Use the supplied cable (no, a normal micro USB won't work, it will charge but not read) to connect it up to your computer and drag and drop like any over hard drive.Have had it for 6 months and absolutely loving it.
Love using mine. Pretty sure it's plug then turn on to make it work while charging.
I actually don't use the app except when updating settings, I normally connect using esfile explorer using my tablet and able to access it like a smb folder.

Yeah I just the website/IP address to access my drive - works a treat and loads up once I connect to the Seagate's personal hotspot.
Agree that the app is quite shoddy, so I limit my use of it :)If your android, try esfile explorer app. It's so much better.

@harkoliar: That's great but only problem is I use this on my 2 in 1 laptop, so windows 10 is the go. I have my phone for android, but not about to watch stuff from that. Thanks anyway

poorly advertised - more like concealed by staff.
chasing another item yesterday rang up bigw got stock position for a number of stores. All claimed no stock - go in today there they are. Ring up again told item was not on website and does not exist today. Eventually admitted it was discontinued and what they were talking about was current stock only ie they were lying today about item and its code to begin with.
well you cant complain to a manager who lies to your face when your looking at the website in real time, and using current searches.
No wonder they are in trouble. And yes price was back up to what it was before.
I got told that the Big W online and in store prices are actually "different shops" and that it is $78 for the product.
She even had the nerve to say "if you can find it online, you can have it for online price"
What utter bullshit. Not doing my Christmas shopping at Big W because the prices might be different then on the shelves or online…
