This deal is doing so well that it needed a strong cashback offer to compliment it, so here's a ripper. Vodafone has this prepaid SIM at half price with double data on top. In order to receive the cashback, there's a requirement for the SIM to remain active for 90 days after activation. There's no reason to cancel it early as it has a 180 expiry.     Vodafone apparently only allow one of these per person/account.

    • Scroll down this list and into Special Terms. It's simply the highest available rate on any given plan. In this case, $75 cashback on the $100 Red Plan.

      Rewards may take 7 days to be credited to your account. You will receive an email to advise your rewards are pending and awaiting confirmation.

      I had a Netgear DC112A & an unlocked 782S gizmo. Reception at my place was never bad but the Netgear roughly tripled my speeds.

    Vodafone has managed to double dip me and charge me twice.
    If I call them and get them to refund me will this affect the Cash Rewards?
    Knowing my luck they’ll refund the one that’s linked to CR.

      This shouldn’t be an issue. Just hold onto your invoices and if they reject the cashback, simply submit a claim via CR explaining what happened :)

    • Yes I get the same problem. Also if you skip that part and choose to activate data only, then the only option available is $50 for 10GB.

    Received the sim but no update from cashrewards yet.

        This is what happened to me so I called Vodafone and the guy I spoke to said it must of been my error and that I must of put 2 in my cart.
        And because it’s been shipped they wouldn’t refund me.
        I logged a complaint with the Ombudsman.
        Added to this, I got an SMS yesterday saying my item had been shipped. This was 2 days after I called them and they told me they had already been shipped.

        Guy I spoke to had no intention of resolving my issue.
        Will see what happens with the Ombudsman I guess.

      • This is what seems to have happened, I chose one SIM and when I have checked my credit card it's showing I have been charged $50 for two SIMs.

          Just checked my statement I have only one $25.

          Did you add it to cart and went back or closed the page and went in added it again?

          I found that the page remember it even you have closed the page, you have to manually remove the extra one. Otherwise it will show multiple time in your cart.

          Same thing happened to me as I added on Thursday night and decided to not purchase till Friday. Next day went through the cash rewards process again and then had 2 in the cart. The confusing bit is because it's half price you may think the $50 amount is the starter kit value and not the invoice amount?

          Thanks, I am very careful with the payments, certain that it was $25 on the payment screen when I checked out. This is the first time it has happened and I was shocked to see $50 on my card. Trying to get this sorted with Vodafone, will contact them later today.

    Has anyone been able to activate their simcard? Been trying since yesterday and all I get is "Something didn't go as planned. Please try activating again later."

  • Can anyone activate the sim card? my mail has been stolen and I am not sure if the sim card is one of them :(

    • They use a courier service from Startrack. So you will need to sign for it.

      • it showing delivered under the tracking number but didn't receive anything. will call Startrack and see what they say.
        Going to drop by the police this afternoon to report what happened. The building manager told me they have a video of him stealing my mail.

    • What happens if we didn't receive the email?

      • Every member that registered a click to Vodafone via Cashrewards during the promo (8:30pm Nov 30 to 3:50pm Dec 2) should have received this email (have you checked junk/promo mailbox?). If for whatever reason you don't have the email, just open a ticket anyway via this link and include your Vodafone reference number (starts with VF followed by 9 digits). PS if you're unsure about the click, go to My Account / My Click History and check. If there's no click to Vodafone that matches up with the promo time, then unfortunately you can't make a claim.

          @shadowrukia: From the comment you made about not registering, that’s what I thought you meant - that you had no click recorded. In that case, check your promo/junk folders in your email client. If you can’t find it, just follow what I said in this comment and open a ticket. Leave the rest to us. Thanks.

    I received the email about the vodafone issue earlier today and unfortunately for me the sale had not auto tracked through cash rewards. I submitted a ticket and it was minutes before I received an email confirming the sale was tracked and processed. Amazing speed for any service let alone a free one. TA (or any other rep that may read this) please pass on the thanks to the team.

      Same experience for me. Within minutes of claim submission cashback was approved. Excellent service from Cashrewards!

    • Probably because it is a known issue. I've had a couple of other untracked sales that took a 3-4 days to get a reply by email.

      I had the same problem, just ignore it and continue. Choose data only and $50 for 10GB. Once it's activated, as long as you set up "My Vodafone" when you login you'll see there is 20GB with 6 months expiry.

    Trying to activate the sim, after typed in activation code, got "Sorry, we can't activate your service right now. Please try again later or call us on 1555 from your Vodafone mobile or on any other phone 1300 650 410." WTF is that? Anyone on the same boat?

      Yep, first person I spoke to wanted the SIM number so I had to call them back
      2nd person said the following;

      This is a known issue with the online $50 down to $25 SIM prepaid packs.
      The activation key is WRONG and needs to be re-generated.
      Apparently they are receiving a lot of these calls.

      He then advised me I need to go to a Vodafone kiosk/store and scan the barcode on the pack to re-generate the key so I can do the online activation.

      edit: I find this absolutely bullshit that Vodafone wants us to go to a store, during peak Christmas periods, when I have work almost every day of the week, just to activate something they cocked up.
      I don't see why they can't adjust the activation code on the SIM card for me while on the phone.

      • This is ridiculous. I called them at 9am this morning, what they said the sim is nothing wrong (they didn't bother to ask me further details about the sim), they are updating the activation system at the moment and asked me wait 6 hours then try again or call back. I have been trying hourly and still not working.

        • I've tried since I received it Monday, no change.
          I believe the rep you were talking to either didn't know what what was wrong, or just wanted to get you off the phone.
          Both reps I spoke to had a foreign accent.

          I'm glad I don't have my normal number/stuff with Vodafone because this is horse ****.
          Edit: Also since they are getting lots of calls with this, I bet the higher ups have told their workers to tell callers to go to store's to re-generate this key, even though I think they have the access to do it, probably something to do with KPI's / Call stats

        • @nicholsonr: Thanks mate. Yeah, they are Indians from the accent. Looks like the only way is to go to the shops. I only use this as data sim in my dual-sim phone, but the experience of this purchase is not pleasant at all.

          @nicholsonr: I went to Vodafone shop last night, the guy advised me it was a known issue and it should work the next day. I tried this morning online, still no luck. So I called 1555 from the sim and got it activated no issue at all. The guy helped me told me he was doing activation yesterday and no problem for him. So I think you need to give me them a call again to activate it over the phone. The activation code should work now although you cannot do it by yourself online.

          I do think had I rang back and got another tech they probably would have done it over the phone though.

          Glad I'm not a direct Vodafone customer, I'm using this as a 2nd Sim in my phone for data only.
          Definitely a sour taste for Voda customer service.

  • Hi everyone. Just a quick update. Note that we reactivated Vodafone on Cashrewards at 11:30am today (Wed 13 Dec). We've had to remove all prepaid products from cashback for now as Vodafone is yet to implement a fix for successful tracking. Postpaid however is no issue. Please ensure Cashrewards is your LAST click before clicking through to Vodafone so that no other channel is attributed with any purchase you make. Enjoy :)

        We've had to remove all prepaid products from cashback for now as Vodafone is yet to implement a fix for successful tracking. Postpaid however is no issue.

      Tho I can't be 100% sure, as I have not yet activated mine.

        • @Kooratz: I picked tablets plan & I can only see 10GB (instead of 20GB), 180 days during the activation. After the activation (around 11:38pm), internet is working and downloaded My Vodafone app, but I couldn't login to My Vodafone or the web portal. Texted "BAL" to 1512 to check the balance didn't seem to work. I'm sure my WiFi is off and only 1 SIM is being used…wired, will check again tomorrow with support

  • Ok, just completed the activation. I had to click on "Change Details" otherwise it wouldnt proceed any further. It showed as 10GB under Mobile broadband, after activating and logging in to myvodafone, it shows 20GB, with expiry of six months as mentioned by @Kooratz. I had 2 sims so will activate the second one today as well.
