Price drop on Google home in new catalogue if you want the better speaker and I also think it has 1 or 2 extra features otherwise if you don't care about the sound buy the Mini for $53 :)

oh snap.. I just bought one of these from office works last week for $146 for a gift. Anyone have any experience returning stuff to officeworks to get the additional discount?? (still sealed and unopened)

Where can the Google Mini be had for $53? All the previous deals are expired it seems.
They're $54 on The Good Guys eBay but if you use the code 'P5OZZIE' you can get it for $51.30 if you click and collect. I got one yesterday at this price.

The mini was for the living area and I've already got great speakers in there so didn't need a home. For the bedroom maybe it's bigger brother will be better as more likely to use its own speaker for music in there.

Managed to get HN to price match this for me yesterday, so I bought 2, one for work one for home.
They had them for $199 and I showed them this post with the excerpt from the OW catalog.
After 24hrs with the GH, I will be getting a few Mini's for other parts of the house.Got both home and mini price matched in JB.
How were you able to price match it if they can't identify that the catalogue is from OW and there's no dates.

You are getting hit with the regional location delivery tax there. It's a common thing on the Officeworks online store. This is the reason why i had never made an online delivery order from Officeworks because that delivery price to regional is just so ridiculous. So don't let yourself get ripped off there by that ridiculous regional delivery price hiked fee.
You are better off ordering it through the JB Hi-Fi online store as the delivery fee from there is a lot less even to regional locations. Only $4.95 delivery for standard of $8.99 for express delivery.

its clear that the home is better sounding speaker
the mic will detect your voice from a further distance than the mini
however the mini will detect voice commands with music up better than the home does*just my 2 cents
at 50odd - cant go wrong with trying the mini first and getting the home later if you want more 'ommph'Two mini's in the home will pick up voice better than one home in one location if you're wanting to cover greater area.
At $53 odd dollars the minis are a cracker deal.

Are you living in a metro area? Also did you try before 11:30 AM? I set the store closest to me which had stock. Hmm if you did all that and it still didn't work then it might be an issue at their end or something. Might have even had too many orders judging by the upvoting.
