      Most people use them as an alternative to sleeping on the ground in a tent yes. However, I use mine in the backyard to read books all the time when I'm not camping/hiking with it. Hence why the missus and kiddo were jealous. :)

    150 usd is pretty expensive if you are not using it for camping etc…. i think i seen normal cotton hammocks around $40 AUD
