How is an entree platter, two mains with rice & naan, desert and two glasses of wine normally $130?

What's the wine? Art Series Chardonnay?

  • I suppose,

    Entree - 25
    Mains - 25 - 30 each = 55
    Dessert - 10 each = 20
    Wine - 10 each = 20

That brings it to around $120.

I've never been to the restaurant but it seems fairly reasonable @ $50. Any reviews?

    • You forgot the rice and the naan…

      • :P 10 dollars there u go!!

        $130!!

  • Agreed - would be lucky to spend that at any of my favourite indian places (in Bris) - hard to beleive the $130 tag

    • I have no idea whether the $130 is legit for this particular restaurant but restaurant prices in Perth have gone through the roof.

      • Agree, can't imagine spending $130 for two people, that's redonkulous. Then again, I don't usually go for dessert or wine, just mango lassis.
If you're not a wine fan I wonder if they could sub in a mango lassi.

There's always Annalakshmi on the river where you pay what you want :)

        • Yeah but they don't have any meat, what's the point.

  • Been here for a work function and loved it. Great food and superb service. Prices are very reasonable.

    • registered to give it a nice positive?

well some restaurants are extraordinarily greedy, i went out on Saturday to have indian in sydney and for 5 people it cost $144! $10 of that was corkage and $12.50 for two small bowls of rice. We only got one entree as well, and 2 naans. bloody expensive.

This deal seems like it would be alright value for $49 for two people though.

  • Maharaja is in a rich suburb and has a great reputation and most reviews I've seen suggest it's the best in Perth (or at that level).

$49 for two people is cheap as hell there. I'm not sure about $130, but I'd expect over $100.

  • I'm a bit wary about this kind of prices at Indian places, I've been seriously stung before by getting a set meal, then they brought extra rice/naan/papadoms out and charged me for it.
