Op, how strong is this wireless Bluetooth speaker?

    • +28

Looks like you can multi use it as a cricket ball.

  • +5

    Looks good.

Spent a lot of time browsing the site but didn't find anything worth buying.

The lack of range compared to other Amazons (Japan or USA) is quite depressing.

    • +7

Yeah you would think they may launch with a deal of the day at the very least!

    • Yeah I totally agree there; lack of phones is a real bummer too (I'm aware that they stock some but theres no real range and the ones they do stock - S8 - are crazy overpriced). Give it 6 months and hopefully we should get a complete range of phones and some other stuff too.

  • +11

Thought "strong" was an adjective describing the product but was the brand name haha.

    • -4

oh no.. i bought a few to use as cricket ball #fail

  • +1

    It uses Mini-USB.
Tempted to buy this just so that I can reuse all the Mini-USB cables I have at home….

    • +1

      Comes with charger (with cable)😉

  • What does it mean by analog audio?

    • 3.5mm audio uses analogue, so your headphones and speakers usually do as well.

Digital audio is used by speakers that use hdmi, toslink etc, which is less common.

    • Probably a 3.5mm audio jack for direct connection.

    • Although Bluetooth signal is digital, converted to analog inside unit. (That is usual, & DA conversion causes lag issue if viewing video.) Uses 3W (probably mono) analog amplifier for Bluetooth & 3.5mm input.

  • -1

Alternatively you could save yourself a few bucks and get one of these which doubles as a fidget spinner! https://www.gearbest.com/fidget-spinners/pp_633870.html

    • +2

Alternatively… Just bought 2 of these Bluetooth 3.0 Car Audio Music Receiver with Handsfree Function Microphone for us$039 delivered!
Needs amplifier (or headphones) to work. Plugs into 3.5mm audio input in car or stereo.
Happy with unit I already received.

      • -2

Not the same… Isn't a music box. Please leave

        • +2

          Another newbie! AGH😦
You were suggesting alternatives… Yours is not like the device in this deal at all! (Tiny fidget toy, 50mA against 500mA battery so little volume or length of charge likely) - not at all suitable as a Bluetooth speaker.

So I added a popular deal (122 upvotes & many more for same device in other deals) as an alternative to this deal. Price has just reduced to cheapest ever here - now 2 for price of 1.

Stated Needs amplifier (or headphones) to work - to make similar to this deal. It's just another cheap rechargeable Bluetooth option available. Makes a fairly good Bluetooth speaker out of existing amplifier & speakers many people already have.

You have no right to ask another member to leave😠 That is not a nice behaviour.

    • It's a $2.38 toy, not an alternative to a Bluetooth speaker!

      doubles as a fidget spinner

No, that is a fidget spinner that doubles as:
Bluetooth speaker - a tinny tiny speaker (photo shows as size of thumb!) and
Flashing light show. Great for the kiddies.

GB describe it as "BT Music Focus Toy Hand Fidget Spinner"…
You wouldn't want this to enjoy music😱
Will likely drive those around you to distraction.

All that powered from a tiny 50mAh rechargeable battery. This deal has 40mm speaker in speaker enclosure & 500mAh battery🔋

There have been deals for this type of fidget spinners. Delivered from China in a few months. Whereas this deal should be delivered fast from local stock.

(And yes, delivery of my suggested device will take ages too. But converts amplified speakers into Bluetooth speakers.)

  • +3

Wow, this Strong mob still about? I remember their POS PVRs from years ago…

  • +1

Alright, time to give Amazon AU a test run for physical items.

  • $6 shipped is cheap.. postage alone already few dollars

    • Additional expedited shipping cost was almost price of unit including standard shipping. Delivery by 31/12 for me.

    • It's only 3W but has an aux input so for $6 I'll give it (and Amazon AU) a crack.

  • -4

    I WOULDN'T BUY THIS ITEM

    AS MUCH CHEAP IT IS

    THE QUALITY IS CONCERNED ….

    • +4

You just joined OzBargain to SHOUT at us😠
No soup welcome party for you

      • -4

        =.= cuz I can't vote negative….

        • +8

Oh we're glad of that restriction on people who join up to criticise.

        • -1

@Infidel: Why are you so mean…

        • +4

          @shinrey:
Because the community doesn't like people who join but don't bother to understand OzBargain. That's just rude. Newcomers are resticted so they have time to get to know how things work before criticising…

There are guidelines for voting - especially a neg vote. Get to know them or you might find others aren't so nice😉

Telling us something we are aware of never goes down well, at least not if you are being serious. Using ALL CAPS (considered shouting) will always provoke members.

The up votes you received happened when it went out of stock - possibly your comment didn't make them feel so bad for missing out - the "I never wanted it anyway" defense😉

We already know a $6 delivered Bluetooth speaker won't be amazing, but not everyone is looking for that. Giving a child a Bose or other quality unit will likely end in tears.

Time taken to consider offer - usually means it disappears before getting around to order.

    • +3

No one is telling you (or anyone) to buy it!
Sorry to read the quality is concerned… (maybe talk to it nicely)😁

I've bought cheaper or got free (Logitech X50) Bluetooth speakers on OzBargain that have been good to great. The price does not always reflect quality!

If you have personal experience with this unit, please share. But if it is just a guess - it's not much use to anyone.

This won't be amazing but should be reasonable value - a nice present for a child or other use where it may not last long.

Not expecting much for $6 delivered. It will be a rebadged cheap unit but does list for $39.95 as linked above.

Certainly no grounds for your intended neg vote! I'm holding off voting until I receive device, but it is an attractive deal for many - by the many up votes

      • -1

It has come to my attention you're defending this product against more than just me, I can't help thinking if there's some personal interest associated.
The voting system is personal, by giving a sample of 'survey' amongst a group of people to give them an idea if it's worth buying.

I happen to be the one who doesn't think it is.

I heard Australia is a country that encourages free speech, now you're trying to bully me to be quiet just because I have a different opinion that goes against yours?

electronic knick-knack like this is usually imported from China, I've seen and used enough of them. refer to Alibaba. the distribution price is about 3 dollars.

        https://wholesaler.alibaba.com/product-detail/Customized-Min…

        • +1

I have now received this product - am happy with using it (for the price). So registered my promised upvote.

I did not defend the product (I did not even vote + until I received it in case it was as bad as you (& I) imagined), am not associated with the seller (I would declare it), just had a problem with your strong warning based on no experience with the product. So like your opinion on an untried product, your opinions of me are unfounded & imaginary.

Understand the voting system in THIS community. You wanted to join and immediately vote negative on this deal which the community does not allow based on past issues.

Your desire to warn others of an imagined problem by lodging a neg vote was based on your personal opinion, not based on the voting criteria in the OzBargain Guidelines. I commented primarily based on this lack of understanding of our community & the Guidelines. Like all communities, others will have different opinions - which is seen as healthy in Australia.

Yes, wholesale prices are cheaper - usually for those buying I've bulk. (And the product you linked is different!) That's the case in all retail, not just this deal. That's how retailers make profits! And a very different delivery time from China rather than local supplier!
Plus it has been commented that Amazon has quickly refunded a faulty product - try that with the supplier in your link as it may be very different outcome!

My response to another person's comment I assume you refer to - was to suggest a cheaper alternative I use. They had suggested a tiny toy figit-spinner was an alternative to this speaker! Anyone thinking that was a good idea needed your warning😉 Their response to my suggestion was Not the same… Isn't a music box. Please leave! Further comments they posted were removed for personal attack. The Mods picked up on that fast without the need for me to Report. Another new comer who told me to go away & not comment on their suggestion. They were not nice & that was noted by the Mods!

You were free to express your opinion on the product & deal. Your comment is still there along with the responses. I did not think this would be much good, but was happy with what it is for the price delivered fairly fast.

Your idea that you should be given freedom to express your opinion without any other view expressed is not 'freedom of speach'! You write that expressing a different opinion & suggesting you get to know the Guidelines when joining this community is bullying??!

My comments were to respect the community you had just joined, understand how it operates. I do the same when I physically stay in or comment other communities. So don't expect OzBargain to change to give you any right to express an opinion without different opinions being expressed. That is the basis of freedom of speech (which usually has some restrictions).

Seems you have a lot to learn. Hope I have helped. Discuss problems you may have with the systems of OzBargain or Ozbargainers with the Mods.

My understanding is OzBargain was originally set up & primarily run for people from other countries but living in Australia. So there will be cultural differences between members. It's a broad welcoming community.

        • -1

@Infidel: Then according to your so-called Guidelines which I couldn't find anywhere on this website, at least half of the comments here should be taken down because they either haven't purchased the products nor have any hands-on experience.

Again, people who click on the post are probably interested buying, which means, they probably don't own the product yet. How can you expect me to give you a 5 A4 page profound and comprehensive ROI analysis and feasible report on this product?!

Besides, you're the one who didn't want a different idea, you basically attacked me and said I was not welcomed here when I said I had a concern with the quality.

I agree with the part that OzBargain is an open community and it should be operated under certain rules, but certainly not by mean replies or some arbitrarily alleged rules.

        • You attract a lot of neg votes in comments, (23 neg votes & counting in 3 deals & not even 1 upvote in 16 days since joining!). Quite a record for a newcomer. Maybe time to ask yourself what is it about you that upsets people, rather than demand others change… (I've posted nearly 12,000 comments with few negs.)

your so-called Guidelines which I couldn't find anywhere on this website

You didn't even ask for assistance. A simple look & you can find the OzBargain Guidelines. They're everyone's Guidelines.

Seems you can't be bothered reading what the community requires… Just want to tell us how's things should be done according to you🙅

Try the Wiki for most matters
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/

You made a baseless claim of THE QUALITY IS CONCERNED….. That shouty claim makes yours different to most opinions posted as comments.

That you said you wanted to neg this popular deal based on what you imagined about the quality, is was what was concerning. If you had been able to neg based on imagination rather than the stated valid grounds in the Guidelines, you would have drawn so much more criticism😱

Strangely you provided a link to a speaker that surely would have more concerns regarding quality, reputation of the product & supplier, protection of funds provided, & after sales service if something did go wrong.

Have blocked further communication from you as I don't want to waste my time with someone who doesn't want to hear any opinion than their own.

  • +7

the same seller has some cheap but decent looking HDMI cables

    1.8m $2
    3m $3
    3m bendy $3

    • +2

You should post that as a deal.

    • +1

Wow they go for $24.95, $29.95 and $24.95 respectively on Strong's website.
      BARGAIN!

Thanks for the tip man, I just bought a 1.8m and a 3.0m just as a back up :D

    • +1

What watchnerd said. Bought thx :)

  • Bought it. Dont know why but its only $6.

  • +5

Thanks, OP, should be good for some bedroom romantic music, creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere in which to indulge in a sexy night of love and passion. If I wasn't single I'm sure it would be even more fun.

  • Is this waterproof?

  • +2

    gone already?

  • Just got an out of stock notification

    • Thank you, added to OP

  • Back in stock

  • Hope it’s better than the xmini, this is steep right?

  • Expedited shipping is no extra cost

    • +1

Showed over $5 extra in checkout for me earlier.

      • Yep still showing this for me

        • Yes, it just doesn't show price when selecting shipping option.

        • Ok. Nevermind. My mistake

        • @tchi6:
I thought the same thing, but checked checkout & was disappointed 😞

  • Are these actually good quality or just rubbish?

    • +4

      Are you a gambler?😉

  • Thanks just ordered one. Not sure why.

  • I reckon that this is a pricing error. Reason being is the delivery fee for this free shipping would have to cost the seller more than $6 alone. What did they intend to give these away for free and then also losing money.

    • Possibly to get their name out there on a new local platform to create a following.

      • +1

So you think maybe a loss leader to get brand recognition on Amazon?.

        • Yep.

    • +1

Been mentioned in a few Amazon Australia deals today. No big issue unless you really expect to get it, rather than a possible refund.

Amazon need to create a local image of heavy discounts to draw media coverage & business.
As it is opening day, expect discounts (& possible stuff ups)😁

  • Output Power is 3W (1KHz, THD 10%). Not bad for 6 dollars.

  • Out of stock OP. :'( missed out darn it but another one will pop up.

  • We're sorry. The item Strong Wireless Bluetooth Speaker is no longer available from the seller you selected

Was in checkout when this happened :(

Yet it still says 3 in stock?

    • Same thing happened to me and refreshed the page like 5 times but is out of stock sadly.

      • +1

        Yeah such a shame :/
Oh well, snagged a decent 3m HDMI with bendy ends for only $3 shipped :)

It was probably for the best I didn't get this, I would probably just use my current BT speaker.

        • +1

Haha fair enough. Bugger on my end because I've been looking for a device like this for cheap. Anyway I'll find one…

        • @MrSammyMcG: $9.32? It's a mushroom though :P

        • @pennypincher98: nah ill wait for one around the fiver mark. Thanks though

        • @MrSammyMcG: Haha yeah same, I didn't get that but its the cheapest BT speaker on amazon I could find then. Looking for one as well but I don't even know why lol.

  • Are these stereo or mono?

  • damn was keen for this lil guy. next time gadget….

  • Almost impulse bought this, but then decided for what I was going to do with it I'd rather buy $6 worth of junk from AliExpress or 5~6 Gearbest deals that interest me more LOL.

One thing that did stall me from buying long enough was wondering what postage method Amazon uses. I take it is not AusPost right? So we can't use Parcel Lockers and what not?

  • +1

    Shipped!

    • Phew, I was worried with all these pricing errors that even this was going to be one. Thank you! :)

  • Gonna take 25 days to arrive

  • Haha…WTF?!? My package has been shipped and is in VIC but the expected delivery date is December 30th to QLD!

    • It's going to be a quiet Christmas without it😢
Same delivery date to Brisbane, but can't take 3 weeks surely🙅
(Was hoping for pricing error / out of stock & get $20 voucher like Amazon's other stuff up.)

      • Lol $20 voucher for a 6-dollar item. Wishful thinking mate!

        • +1

          Obviously😁

      • My two showed up today…I thought the 30th sounded a bit too far away.

        • Mine too🔊
          30Dec arrived early - it's New Year's Eve tomorrow😉

  • +2

Parcel was delivered today, but i wasn't home to accept

  • +1

this thing is tiny. not bad sound for such a small thing.

    • Yes it's an old style burger speaker. Provided link to manual & brochure above… 40x40mm, 45g.

It's the sound that matters 🔊

  • It's worth every one of the 6 dollars paid. And not a cent more..

    • +1

I take that back. I realised you can pop it open and the bass increases quite a bit. Not bad

      • That's how a 'hamburger style' speaker is designed to be used. See the manual under "Closing & Opening".

  • -1

    Just arrived, its pretty shit.

  • Arrived quickly. But really disappointed with this vendor. The box was tampered because the little tag thing to hang at retail stores was at the bottom of the box, there were some grit and powder inside the package and lastly the little accordion part was dented and damaged. And the quality isn't worth 6 bucks more like the 5 dollar unbranded knock off speakers. Also the volume rocker doesn't work. Won't buy from this vendor again.

    • +2

These were always likely to be old stock being cleared. This style of speaker has been around for a while. I expected a layer of dust, not rubbish you found in the packet.

The cheap looking manual & price (hardly enough to cover delivery) suggested to me it would just be a generic 'hamburger' style spealer, with Strong brand added.

And yours was faulty on top of that!
Lodge a complaint to Amazon first. Might get a voucher😁 They won't want bad publicity!

  • +2

Mine arrive a to be honest for $6 I'm surprised at the quality, it's actually decent

  • Got mine today. What is the popping up accordion bit supposed to achieve?

    • Cool factor.

  • Got mine yesterday also, which was surprising since the emails they sent me said it would be arriving in January.

I'm no audiophile, but for 6 bucks I'm pretty impressed and happy with the quality from this little thing.

  • +1

Mine arrived couple of days ago. Bluetooth didn’t work and appears power button is engaged back to front. Emailed amazon and got my $6 refunded. Haven’t actually tried with audio cable so will give that a try later.

  • +1

Mine finally arrived in my letterbox after I freaked that somebody else had signed for it.. Couriers Please, I was home when you delivered it to my letterbox and you signed for me. Also, you busted my package up (I suspect you have driven over it) and consequently the speaker is broken and mute. It makes me question the “Strong” brand name. Marvellous first experience with Amazon AU. Bahumbug! /shakes fist
Apologies Op, I must revoke my vote.

  • Really happy with mine for $6. Doesn't get anywhere near as loud as my Logitech X50 but has a lot more low end, sounding more full.
