The Meizu EP-51 does not do noise cancelling. At least, I haven't noticed such a feature in my 7 month old pair…

    • Also have them, definitely not noise cancelling

    • +2

I suspect the correct term should be noise isolating

Good for the gym and mowing the lawn. Battery lasts ~ 2hr-2hr30mins for me after more than 1 year of use.

  • Any used the EP52? Not sure whether to upgrade or not.

My EP51 don't connect to two different devices - eg. paired with Android phone (but bluetooth off) but won't let me connect to Windows PC with Bluetooth on.

    • The EP51's use a older Bluetooth version and they are not that sophisticated — they're certainly not Bose Qc's.

To pair to a new device, you may have to press the power button and hold it down until it goes into pairing mode, and then have your windows PC scan for the device while it's LED is flashing rapidly.

      • Problem is I have to reset the pairing every time I get into work.

Apparently others don't have this problem

    highly recommend these

    +1 for these

I have these and the QC19. I much prefer the QC19.

    • I've got both, and prefer the ep-51s personally as better fit my ears, but they're both good value for their respective prices.

    • i also set a new code for QC19, in case you want more :)

      • Could you give a few more codes for the EP51? I just got paid and I can finally afford to buy these, but they're sold out now 😭

        Thanks!

        • hi mate, just checked, don't have enough stock, so i can't bring this back again now

    • QC19 have no bass, do these have bass?

      • -1

No. I regretted buying these because they didn't have enough bass..

Got a pair of these a couple of weeks ago, to replace a pair of QCY QY19s which are starting to fall apart after a lot of use. They are nice looking earbuds, are well made, and a lot of people seem to be happy with them.

Unfortunately, I don't recommend them. I just can't get a decent seal with the supplied eartips. Unlike most earbuds, the tips do not go far into your ear. The really annoying thing is the design is non-standard, so you can't buy third party tips (like those from Comply).

If anyone knows where you can get alternative tips for these, I'd be very interested to know.

    • @scrimshaw @diabolic

how do these compare to Xiaomi Wireless Bluetooth 4.1 Music Sport Earbuds

      • I have the same issue as diabolic. I'm not impressed by the seal so they sound poor especially on the train where isolation is really important. I've been alternating between the L and the XL tips - the L is too small and can't make seal, the XL idk, if they soften up a bit more it might be ok but not so far. Sucks because if I manually push the tips into my ear they sound pretty good, there's mid-bass and a little extension beyond that, but they just refuse to stay in that position on their own.

Isolation and bass is better on my Xiaomi bluetooth (the ones in your link) but they don't feel or look quite as nice as the EP51s. In general, the xiaomi tips suit my ears pretty well - I've been happy with all my sets of bullets.

I have a set of EP52 on the way from china atm, but I'm not confident that they will be any better.

    • Thank goodness, I thought I was the only one so utterly underwhelmed by these. I also found it is almost impossible to get a good seal in both ears at the same time over a good period of time. One the rare occasions that it does happen, I'm impressed by the better than average sound stage, good mids and highs - bass becomes okay (rather than non-existent).

There is definitely a market for better IEM tips for the EP51.

  • Thanks OP, been waiting for the price to drop on these!

  • Thanks OP.
Got one pair of this few months ago and now get another pair for my friend.

  • I remember when aptx used to be a rare and luxurious feature on headphones. Apple's W1 chip also apparently conforms to aptx standards, though Apple doesn't publish this for some reason. But when I looked at aptx bluetooth headphones years ago you'd have to pay hundreds.

aptx won't stop cheap headphones from sounding like cheap headphones though. You can't polish a turd.

  • These… Are average =(

Too much outside noise gets in.. Might be ok if used indoors I guess.

    • They're not noise cancelling, so what do you expect? If ambient noise is an issue, you buy noise cancelling earphones. Just the fact that these aren't doesn't make them average.

      • +1

They let in more noise compared to other earphones I've owned.

You can get sennheisers at this price which dona better job.

        • These aren't a proper inner ear monitors (IEMs) which is what you're probably comparing them against.

  • how are these for running?

  • Might be better to wait for the Anker ones to be back on sale. Although, if you definitely need something ASAP you might as well buy these. Good value in most cases. Just don't expect anything amazing.

  • +1

FYI, stored the earphones in the original case regularly (had to roll them up to fit), over time the Bluetooth connection cuts out due to loose cabling. Most likely due to me rolling them up. Will invest in a different pair next time.

  • Own a pair of these and they are great. Might grab another pair for a Christmas gift…

  • I have to ask it, how do these compare to the $250 entry level Bose?

  • More bass than QC19?

  • Alright for exercising and walking. Wont set the world on fire but for the price cant complain.bluetoth can be flaky if your hand covers the volume control or its on the opposite to your phone when in your pocket.

  • Bought a pair at the start of the year on banggood and didn't work after 4 months of use. Emailed back the warranty is only valid for 3 months. Thought warranties are usually 1 year. Just make a note.

  • dont recommend them. i bought these bcos these were voted quite highly by ozbargainers.
I use these a lot for making calls too , the microphone is crap
i also find that every now and then it cuts off completely (mid phone call) and i need to re-connect -or- there is a really loud continuous noise which i then have to turn off and turn back on. Might have a faulty one (its brand new) but should've did more research.

I used to have mpow wolverines and i found them to be better and more reliable (imho)

  • Great for inside usage, but get ep52 at the same price if you can. The cord gets stuck easily and the range outside is short

  • Sorry, your coupon has exceeded the maximum limit for usage.

  • Wondering if rep can put a deal on this.

    cheers
