        • @Galoomp: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

        • Haha! Thx to a quick cut and paste mid dinner… 🤦🏼‍♂️

  • +1

    School holidays sorted. Thanks OP!

    • Yeah bud, my kids love it - especially the waterpark

  • +1

Risky bet, don't see Dreamworld remaining open past this summer season.

    • +4

$49 for one summer is fine by me

    • +4

Well if someone wants to go to Dreamworld, are they better off paying $75 for a single entry?

        • +4

Fair chance? I’ve been to Dreamworld about 20 times over the last three years. I’m not dead. So buying a $49 yearly pass is a “risky bet”, and by going to Dreamworld there’s a “fair chance” that I’ll die? I hope your missus doesn’t let you near the TAB on the weekends.

        • +3

          Fair chance your a tool

Any known specials for Wet'n'Wild ?

    • +5

Yep, you get to leave with your life.

      • Very good - I'll pay that! :)

      • Wet'n'Wild is owned by Village Roadshow. You're thinking of Whitewater World.

        • No, I thinking and asking about what I wrote - Wet'n'Wild.
Why would I ask about Whitewater World, when it's included in this here special.

        • @mouth:

I was replying to tomsco's comment, but typed before thinking, lol.

    • 2nd this - would love any sort of WetnWild deal. Never see them anymore

    • Only the ones grouped with Sea World and Movie World

    • +1

Try Groupon. Got some for $84 when they had 10% off earlier.

  • +5

I remember in the 90s it would cost nearly $100 for one day entrance for DreamWorld. The yearly passes were insanely expensive.

Then suddenly they started doing these cheaper and cheaper passes in the 2000s.

Clearly they were cutting costs somewhere.

    And now…this…no thanks.

    • +2

Don't go flying on commercial air.

      • +1

        I worry about that too.

        • +5

Don't forget the frogs that make that chirping noise at night.
          They are also watching you

    • safety standards must be higher in the 90's at dreamworld due to newer equipment

    • +2

It felt like the park had far more development, particularly on the thrill ride side of things, around that time though. Wipeout, Tower of Terror, Giant Drop, Corkscrew etc all seemed to arrive in relatively quick succession.

Pretty much every 24 months something seemed to be opening where it’s felt pretty stagnant for a long time. A lot of the effort seemed to go into White Water World. Buzzsaws the one ride of note that I can think of from more recent times. At this point they seem to be closing more than they’ve opened.

      • +5

One of the many reasons why 90s Queensland, was the best Queensland.

        • +2

Yeah. Parents once a year would take me and my two brothers out of school for a day to go visit Dreamworld. Was a blast and by going on school days we’d miss the weekend crowds.

Used to even love the small water park they had there. Wasn’t much but it was a great diversion on a hot day.

        • @Smigit: Oh dang I think I remember this, was near a bus area? Maybe? dang idk actually

        • 80's were better, with about 1/10 of the population to now.
You used to be able to get a wave to yourself..

        • @SSX3: Near the old fashioned cars.

  • +12

When is Westworld going to be ready to open?

    • +1

      Mmmm

    • Don't know about you, though I don't have $40k to blow per day. ;)

  • +8

I heard they have some killer rides.

    • +1

With fewer and fewer people attending Dreamworld, I worry about less $$$ might convert to less maintenance…

Also, that ride isn't there anymore, it's now called Nutri-bullet.

    • +5

Since the incident they've bumped up their safety record by implementing a raft of measures to turn things the right way round.

  • +2

Now this is a deal, none of this 1% off bullshit. Just bought one even though I will never go

  • -8

I've been dieing to do to dreamworld. Thanks OP

    • +5

      dying

      • +2

Maybe his spelling was correct and he was using one of these?

  • +8

Poor form for a lot of comments posted here!

    • -7

Swimming lessons bundled free with the rides!

      • Grow up.

        • +4

          Get a sense of humour.

        • -1

@Diji1: What type of person are you to think this subject is funny?

    • +13

not wrong about that. this is a landmark place for most of us Australians, i grew up and as a kid this was my #1 destination i wanted to go to for the first 15 years of my life.

now its about to die because of the type of people here giving it shit for a 1 in a billion accident. most of our kids will never get to visit this place

      • +2

Agreed, it's like the movie "Idiocracy" is coming true….

      • +1

        Too true.
Last time I went , I came out thinking that was the most value I've ever gotten for $50.
        Great fun day .

Plus side will be shorter lines for the rides,
I would get in before the crowds come back.

  • I’m stupid. Where do I enter the promo code? Edit - found it.
    Thanks for posting OP!

  • +1

Thats awesome OP, was just considering booking thier season passes for upcoming holiday season.. Know of any discounts on currumbin sanctuary?

  • Sorry wouldn't go for free

    • +36

I don’t think they’d let you in for free.

      • +2

        Ha ha, owned!

    • +4

why? after the crazy audit they had, this theme park basically becomes the most safest theme park in the world

  • +3

Awesome! Bought 4 tickets for the family! Been waiting for a deal like this.

  • So there's the SeaWorld deal or this?

SeaWorld looks OK.. But heard this is good also.

no safety preaching.. I know the story

    Ah is it just DreamWorld??

    • Where is the SeaWorld one?

      • At the Spit, north of Surfers Paradise

    • +5

I had passes for both Sea World and Dreamworld this year. The kids loved DW much more than SW.

SW highlights: Dolphins, Seals, Polar Bears + a few rides. 20min Drive for Movie World and Wrt n Wild. (Really a day trip for each)

DE highlights: Many rides at all different age levels, Tigers, Whitewater world next door. Given last years terrible tragedy, recent safety checks and maintenance,

  • Groupon, scoopon etc etc

  • The season pass for kids is $109, and the code doesnt reduce that cost

Am i missing something or has this already gone?

    • I see it at base price $79…

First link on tickets > Season Pass > Adults @ kids > Adults, Kids, Prnsioners all $79. Code takes $30 off each

    • You need to select the “season pass”, not the yearly pass.

  • +1

    Yeay, bought 5

  • SeaWorld is a tourist trap , a zoo for penguins and Porpoise.
Was somewhat better when they had skiers who did stunts ,
but that didn't work out too well.

  • Thanks OP. On time

  • -1

They made a mistake should've just stuck to the big rides instead of trying to build their own water park. That decision alone pretty much did them in

  • Fantastic, just seen the commercial on tv for $79 for children.

  • This is a bargain. I am very tempted. The real cost is in the petrol and accommodation.

    • Not when you live in the south suburbs of Brisbane. Excellent deal - our daughter loves the Wiggles Big Red Car ride.

      • I live in Sydney. The kids do like the rides and water parks.

  • +3

Cheers, Got the fam on it. Guess the only people at dreamworld will be us cheapos

    • In park discounts with season pass too… though we’ll probably all pack a lunch purchased with Gift Cards

      • +4

        Don't forget to wear ozbargain t-shirt :)

        • Haven’t got one yet :-(

      • yeah, ill bring a vegemite sandwich or something haha. Thanks for the deal though mate!

  • thanks bought

  • I prefer MovieWorld, but for half-price, this is definitely a bargain and bought 5 for the fam! Ozbargain meetup when? :p

    • Haha! Sounds like a good spot for an 11th Birthday party!

    • -1

The Movie World annual pass has gone up to $199, $139 if a local. They definitely have the better park, though steep pricing.

  • Where do you put coupon code?

    Update! Never mind.. Found it

    • sorry,where i can put the code ??
