    Not a bargain

  • It's not a bargain (no cheaper than normal price for the service in question) and isn't even real foxtel (HD satellite or cable service).

I just disconnected ny 100+ dollar a month foxtel cable subscription and am now paying $29.50 for pretty much what we were interested in, to me thats a bargain. Lots of people cant even get foxtel because they cant get cable to their house. Foxtel themselves dont seem to want people to know about this, they've tucked it away right at the bottom of the page, in a really small font. If it benefits just another person other than me, thats worth my effort. I dont care about your votes, vote negative all you want.

thats a lot of things that you need to take up the non-bargain.

True, not asking you to take up any of it. If you have it all in place go for it and save some money, there's enough free to air tv, and internet tv around that you dont really need foxtel these days.

Considering you can get normal foxtel installed on a 12 month plan for $396 at the moment on their basic package, this isn't really a deal. Plus the sports channels on xbox are rubbish.

I own an xbox, and will probably sign up for a month over the holiday break, 'cause I don't watch tv normally anyway, so for the casual user, it's great, but if you are planning to keep it all the time, want to watch sports through foxtel or you have any interest in ppv, this isn't the deal for you, and also, this is standard pricing…

It's only good if, and only if, you have unlimited 24/7 ADSL2+, I think cheapest is TPG for $75 per month.
Then, get XBOX Live Gold, for about $50-$70 a year if you shop around.

Of course, still you need to buy an XBOX 360, which cost about $200-$300 + HDMI cable $30.

In the end, it cost too much trouble to get a Foxtel.

I was highly expecting this… but disappointed with the price tag.
Also why there is no ability to record as we find in PS3?

    • foxtel isn't available on ps3, also, why do you need a HDMI cable?

I've also been looking forward to this since about June when I heard about it, but expected a more casual setup of maybe 1 or 2 channels for $5 a month that you could mix and match - maybe if this doesn't do too well we'll see some actual deals from foxtel :P

      • yeah, that's what I want too…

hdmi cable? mmm because it's better quality i guess…

I'm more expecting for a good deal on the kinect…

    • Adding all those things in makes this not cheap or in any way a bargain. :(

NOT A BARGAIN! Infact Foxtel on 360 is a rip. If you already have Foxtel you can get another box for $15 a month. I will be cancelling my subcription though because there are too many repeats, too many ads and no new shows. If they made the Foxtel on 360 free for existing subscribers like it was supposed to be, I may have stayed, but this is the last straw.

    • never heard about any plans for providing it free to current subscribers, mainly because it would be far too easy for you to sign it up, then take your xbox to a mates place and they get foxtel for nothing :D

      • There was an article in the Daily Telegraph in February which stated it would be free for current subscribers. It is on the web somewhere but I cbf searching.

normal price, and the "value" of this $19.50 is very dubious as well
