wish the seller does not raise the price before 10am

    • +9

jack always wake up before 10am

    • I have played a switch 2 now look is nice but again I don't want to rebuy all my steam games on a another platform again. and I an emulator switch games like BOTW on my steam deck no issues. so literally there is not cause for me to go for a switch 2 the steam deck goes above and beyond. The other thing is i can remote play my ps5 as well on steam deck.

      • -3

so literally there is not cause for me to go for a switch 2

Apart from you legally playing the Switch games you are emulating I assume from not dumping your own roms

        • -1

i own the cart for the game so i legally own it

          • @kungfuman: Seems like owning an original Switch is a big part of your argument you have left out. Could sell it then put proceeds into switch 2 which gives you access to the upscale for games like BoTW. Which I am sure you are just playing the regular version through your emulator

            • -3

@serpserpserp: well I used to own a switch and physical games, the only one I kept was that cart because is the only game i want to play lol.

              • +2

@kungfuman: Lol, SURE you kept it ;)

                • -1

@montorola: i will finish BOTW one of these days.

                • +8

@montorola: Why does anyone care if he owns or just pirates his games? Nintendo sure don't care about us as buyers.

Some years ago now I owned a Wii U and took it with me on a trip to kill time. On coming back my suitcase got lost. Wasn't a big deal, I got reimbursed through insurance. I bought a new Wii U. I tried to connect it to the many digital games I'd purchased. They had no interest in helping me.

In trying to get my account restored periodically for some months, eventually they tell me my console has "turned up" with a new user account on it. I was like "OK, so can I have the games I bought with my money back?"
Nintendo: "No, you'll need to physically recover the console."
Me: "I have no idea where the console is."
Nintendo: "You need to contact the police."
Me: "I've been paid out for the console by my insurance, I'm pretty sure I don't have any legal claim to that console anymore. And, even if I do, I don't think the police are going to go on a manhunt to track down a $150 console. But it's been months, the airline might have found it, been unable to identify the owner and auctioned it as lost."
Nintendo: "Then we can't help you." hang up

That was pretty much the sum of all the useful feedback I got from them. They did keep accusing me of selling the console. When I asked why they thought I sold the console, apparently committed insurance fraud to… Buy another of the same console I'd just "sold" and tried to recover my account, they never gave a rational answer. And I'm sure this was the actual reason they refused to help me. That day they hung up on me several more times and I wound up selling my new Wii U along with all my physical Wii and Wii U games.

Maybe someone stole my Wii U, maybe it was lost as a result of incompetence. I guess I'll never know. But what I'm sure of is that Nintendo stole hundreds of dollars in digital game purchases from me and didn't give a damn about my entitlements to them under consumer law.

      • Ok, you’ve argued this into a bad deal then. Well done.

  • -7

I hope they discount their Pop Vinyl range for Afterpay Day. I got my eyes on a couple of star wars ones I want.
    It's a shame Popcultcha won't join in.

  • -1

How do you know the switch 2 from the eb store are part of the eligible items?
Is it normally everything in their ebay catalogue?

    • +2

Yes. If the seller is included, it includes all their listings

  • +6

Sadly I dont have after pay and not interested for having.

    • +2

Yeah I don't wanna touch After pay.

      • -1

        Good choice. It's very dangerous.

        • +11

How is it dangerous? It's a free working capital account for purchases with no cost

        • +4

That simply isn't true. Like all things, it's how you chose as an adult to use it.

          https://imgur.com/a/cuKJQeM

        • +8

It's not dangerous if you use it this way:

          1. Only use Afterpay if it gives you a discount on an item you intended to purchase anyway
          2. Purchase the item with the discount
          3. Immediately pay off the remaining balance in full.

If you do the above, it's just a free discount machine.

      • +9

After pay is handy and good to use if used sensibly. I like the pay it off concept - not spending the money all at once. That said I tend to clear the payments long before the due date as I hate it hanging over me.

        • +2

Note it affects your credit score or ability to borrow. They noticed it when when I got my home loan, even though I only had one Afterpay purchase and only had used it for the promo code

          • @scepticpsych: Haven't missed a payment yet and I've swiftly paid back anything that was as little as $20 and as much as $3997. Funniest was a laptop purchase last year. Basically $2,300……. had 8 weeks to pay it off. I did it the following week after the purchase.

I like having it as another avenue to purchase things - mostly online orders and click & collects. For me its more that I'm not parting with ALL of the money instantly….. even though I technically am with my method of paying it off faster than the 4 fortnights.

      • +1

Neither. It's mainly not self control but I heard that it's sort of like having another credit card, so it becomes essentially an extra item when you apply for loans etc.

    • +1

Doesn't the code become active at 10 AM?

  • +8

All these deals are fantastic for making scalpers irrelevant. Nice for a console to have enough stock at launch for a change, been loving my Switch 2.

    • +2

Due to covid19… oh wait, cant use that excuse anymore.

      • -1

PS4 was the same, and the Wii before it, months without stock. Definitely not COVID's fault, though it didn't help. Ideally next gen keeps up the pace across the board. I'll be there again for my day one Xbox Whatevertheycallit Edition.

        • Just to avoid any confusion and for it to be abundantly clear what the next model is called, it will be the:

          ex-xbox onetwo one x box x

  • +1

In 456 and 327 carts……… this is going to sell out fast

  • Will the tax invoice get sent to me if i order it because Im going away in a month overseas so I will be able to get the tax back

  • +3

I’d save that ~$60 and buy DK instead; MK not even a physical copy and reviews are mixed so not worth being stuck with it if it ends up being crap.

    • -1

Nah the game is really good the only mixed thing about it is how they handle online play but other than that it is the best Mario kart of all time

      • Agree. A metacritic score of 86 is respectable and getting it for $60 is worth it.

        • +2

That’s a critic review; they tend to be biased. The user review is 71%; that’s what’s important.

To put that into perspective: MK8 on both Wii & NS has critic/user review of ~90%.

          That’s the reality.

      • +2

Online multiplayer is half of the game content. If half of the game is flawed then it’s not a good game; it’s an average game

    • It’s a good game - don’t listen do this!

      • Define ‘good game’

    • Hey. Where can we get DK for 60$ ?

    • -1

MK World has been fun especially with 24 racers and you don't get as punished by items.

  • -3

    Pro: Good price
Con: Having AfterPay on your credit history

    Not worth it imo.

    • It's just a coupon code dogg. You can pay however you like

      • +2

IIRC you need to put at least some of the total on Afterpay

        • Never been the case in prior years. I've bought something on the Afterpay coupon sale almost every time, and I have no Afterpay account.

      • You can pay however you like

There's been a few times in the past where they forgot to enforce paying with AfterPay but it's always fixed quickly.

        • Wow. I guess I've always avoided that by being the best at getting in quick for the baaaaaargains.

    • deleted

    • ZIP, After pay will lower your borrowing capacity for home loan.

      • +3

It's just not worth tainting your credit history to save a few bucks. Plus these BNPL companies are scumbags, so why support them in general.

        • Because people can't afford things

  • +3

You just know this isn't going to go well. I want one for my youngest child but if I was a betting man I'd say something will dock-block me. Likely Mr. Jacques.

  • Do you get free shipping with eBay Plus?

  • I wanna get a Switch 2 for Christmas, is this about the lowest it will get?

    • -2

Yep. Won't have a $5.. up front this side of Christmas, only talking about 4 months away. Switch 2 release in 2025.

  • EB Games is the best.

    • +5

      Lol is what way?

    • +4

      (it's not)

    • I've walked into EB Games hundreds of times the past few years looking for a Nintendo deal (either new or preowned) and always walk out empty-handed. Even when I know exactly what I want, Big W is normally cheaper.

  • +1

I really think we're in a world now where consoles just won't get any cheaper with time. In fact I would usually bet prices would more likely go UP - so launch price is probably your best bet.

Personally I'm holding off because of the screen. I don't specifically care about OLED, or know if I'd really notice the reported issues, but I don't like agreeing to pay Nintendo's premium price for a seemingly lacklustre screen.

    • +1

This is an interesting post about console prices including inflation. Looking back historically, they've always been around $600

      https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5/comments/1fejoks/console_prices…

    • -1

Man I almost ordered one but you reminded me about the screen issues.

      • What happened with the screen and battery?

        • +3

Screen is lcd and a bit of a downgrade compared to oled. It has a slow response time as well.

Battery life is quite average. Similar to original switch.

    • Screen and battery life is what is holding me back.

  • I stayed away from these BNPL money washers, and ain't doing it for NS2 either.

    I'll wait for black friday.

at any rate switch OLED gives me everything I want and I am not keen for a screen downgrade

  • +1

Damn OOS already that was quick!

  • Grabbed one. As a old dude can someone tell me I got the right one? Went the bundle. Youngest is 8 years old and has been in my back about grabbing one for him….guess my question is is the bundle worth ~$60 more. I had a quick google and it looks like you can't get the game for that low..What's the cheapest the game has gone for thus far? TIA

    Thanks OP.

    • Yes bundle is worth $60 more.

      • 🙂 thank you

    • Well done. Yes. Your kid will enjoy and you should have lots of awesome parent points.

      • +4

Parent points must be used within 7 days. Cannot be redeemed for cash.

  • +1

welp looks like a legendary deal i missed out on :(

great post OP and grats to all who got one

EDIT: BACK IN STOCK I GOT ONE YAY

  • OOS

  • missed the bundle.. need to snag a deal on MK now, anyone spotted a good deal on MK yet, prefer physical

  • back in stock…for now

  • -3

To use this code, please select the Afterpay payment method.

Shame, no way I want that on my credit file

  • +1

    Grabbed one. Thanks op!

  • Afterpay is getting smashed, not loading login.

  • +3

Mario Kart bundle back in stock!!

  • +2

    Thanks OP!
Is it worth getting extra switch 2 joycons if I already got switch 1 joycons and switch 1 pro controller (I think they are compatible)?

    • +2

No. I didn’t get extra switch 2 joys cons and have been using switch 1 joy cons for 4 players…unless you want to play 4 player mouse scrolling games which the switch joy con 1 can’t do.

Didn’t get a switch 2 pro controller either and just been using the switch 1 pro controller…the only thing with the pro controller 1 is you can’t use the home button to wake up the switch 2.

  • Showing OOS for both options

  • Back in stock now.

  • +1

    Grabbed one, thanks OP.

  • +2

    Back in stock for both.

  • +1

"Sorry we are unable to approve your purchase." What? I'm nowhere near my limit

  • +4

    I'm tempted

But then I remember there are no games I want to play on it and you need online subscription to play Mario kart with others.

The maths says spend the money on Steam

  • +2

Back in stock, and decided to grab one. Thanks OP for ruining my finance with this impulsive purchase

  • Seeing as I missed out on bundle, any good deals on the games?

  • Rip me, snagged the bundle. Bundle is back again.
