I almost bit the bullet yesterday on the $449 (-5% via cashrewards eGift card), but was so on the fence that decided to wait…SO GLAD!
After selling the game and gift card, it nets ~$360 (i have no interest i GT sport).
Bummer I don't think I'll use the 'Pro' feature, and would have liked a cheaper normal PS4, but the price difference is so small it is crazy not to go Pro. Are they making losses on the Pro, or over pricing the normal ps4?

Doubt its temporary, its xbox one x will slowly drop in price over 12 months. I expect $499 next Xmas. The xbox one x leap frogs the ps4 pro on specs.
I'd be surprised if the ps4 pro sold at anything over $499.
Yeah but PC has always leap frogged everything in the tech department haha. Really comes down to content and experience.
Can you really put a value on smooth gaming with better graphics for a whole year? Is 1 year waiting only worth a couple hundred bucks?

I have an xbox one s and I don't have a desire right now to drop $600 on an xbox one x.
My point was that ps4 pro price probably won't go up especially with xbox one x coming down over time. :)

I got the 1TB GT Ltd edition this week, but I was thinking of returning it all week due to ps4 pro being only $50 more. Been looking at reviews comparing them both etc. Today I returned it to think about it over the weekend. If it is $30 less it's a no brainer. I also started using the cash rewards so another 5% off effectively.
I would price the ps4 at about $100 over the slim. But the GT edition had a hold on me. But it makes literally no sense to get the slim over the pro at about $50 difference. However I got some of the controllers for $49 and you don't really look at the console much, but the controls you do.
I think the white console looks a lot nicer than the black. I have a xbox one s also and will get some exclusives on the ps4.
I don't have a 4k TV but will in the next 12-18mths.

Gosh I got close… Bought the PS4 Pro from the EB games eBay special (5 games + PS4 Pro for $450 delivered after Cashrewards) and also got the JB Hi Fi special with GT & controller for $69. Sold the games together on Gumtree yesterday for $170, so in the end I paid $349 for PS4 Pro with 2 controllers! Stoked with that :-)

The PS4 seems to have better exclusives while the Xbox One X is a more powerful machine. I guess it depends if your in it for the exclusives or having the most powerful console.
more power, but less games. Are you really going to notice the difference between native 4K cross platform titles and 4K upscaled dynamis res when both are at 30fps? I'm guessing not.

That said, which console is 'better' is entirely subjective. I have an Xbox One S, will upgrade to an Xbox One X when there's a good deal, and will eventually pickup a base PS4 when there's a good deal on one of those…pretty much just for bloodborne.

How much different is the pro vs the original? Just curious since I bought my brother-in-law's PS4 with 2 controllers for $100 a couple of months ago.
difference mostly in 4k or hdr gaming, otherwise in some games you get higher fps.
It is all technical, and a lot of marketing. They both play the same games, graphics aside.
A PS4 with 2 controller for $100 in insanely good value, I would personally grab the normal ps4 any day if I could get it significantly cheaper.
Got mine yesterday. I have a 1080p TV. Only really played Fallout 4 so far. Regular PS4 targets 30 FPS but often dropps down into low 20's which was absolutely horrible. Now its constantly fluid. Must be sitting on 60 FPS and if there are any dips I don't notice them.
Also the super-sampling has mostly gotten rid of the aliasing and the draw-distance is notably longer: handy for sniping.
All I was expecting was Boost Mode to make it stick to 30 FPS without dips. The patch on this game is amazing. Worth the upgrade already. :)

Harvey Norman management have told their staff not to match this deal. Some BS about it not being in stock at big w (even though it is) because big w have a warning about delivery not being in time for Christmas. Typical quality customer service from Harvey Norman.

Tried to buy from BigW Parabanks SA, attendant advised that it’s $449 in their catalogue and $419 most likely is online only (Couldn't see it advertised anywhere instore). Attendant did try to scan GT Sport and PS4 Pro together to see if it would come down in price but didn’t. .
EB Games wouldn’t price match as they don't have same bundle.

I already have black PS4 Pro still picked up white one because it is more appealing to me. I guess now I have to sell my original PS4 pro with the game.
I think the slim in black looks good, but the pro in black for some reason doesn't look good to me. The pro's design is pretty unappealing to begin with but I think the white with black accents work better, kinda like the Xbox One S.
