  • I could be wrong, but looking at the t&c's this 10,000 point offer is only for today (Day 2)?

Day 2 competition commences at 9am AEDT on 12/12/2017 and ends at 11:59pm AEDT on 12/12/2017.

    • Further down the T&Cs:

Tuesday 12/12/2017, in order to be rewarded with the 10,000 bonus Dimmi Rewards Points, entrants must be a member of the Dimmi Rewards Programme and make a booking and dine between 12th December 2017 - 31st December 2017 using the code XMAS17 at checkout. Points may take up to 30 days after the promotion has ended to appear in the entrant's account. Prize: 10,000 bonus Dimmi Rewards Points for completing a booking only.

      • Sorry, what I meant to say was that you need to "book" today, but can dine between 12th December 2017 - 31st December 2017?

        • My interpretation is book and dine between Dec 12 and 31st otherwise it would be book Dec 12 and dine between 12 Dec and 31 Dec. Guess we'll find out tomorrow. I'll contact Dimmi for clarification.

        • +8

They have clarified. Book anytime in December, not just today.

  • Is this for once off use?

    • +2

Just asked them on FB. Once per account.

  • +4

Noice Noice…. especially considering I'm on 9000 currently. Wish it was still $50 though, those were the days.

Can you book a table for McDonald’s on Dimmi’s?

I was thinking of booking a table for Christmas lunch at my local Macca’s.

    • +1

      In Frankston?

      • Yeah that will do. And do you know whether they are doing a special Christmas lunch?

        • Yeah they are, you get a discounted leg of ham that is 30 days past its use by date.

        • @MathNerd: Eww. I would only eat a leg of ham if it was less than 20 days past its use by date

    • +2

      Username checks out.

  • Great. Just bookes a bday dinner on the weekend and was holding out for this. Wonder if a restaurant would mind if you cancelled and rebooked haha.

Then again the dimmi points as far as perth is pretty useless compared to its old self. 20 bucks at only select restaurant's. I misss the days where you got 50 dollars off a meal and it meant something. Now ur better off using dimmi 50% off deals than trying to get 20 bucks off a a few hundred dollar meal.

    • Cancel your initial booking first then wait a day to book using Dimmi.

I booked over the phone with one restaurant, and then booked again using Dimmi. When I called them and asked the staff to cancel my over the phone booking they didn't, cancelling my Dimmi one. From then on I stopped using Dimmi.

Can't be bothered chasing them up for little points/discounts whatever, just thought I'd rant here to get it out of my system :)

      • thanks. I cancelled my dimmi. then rebooked immediately with qantas as i didn't realise (being a new QFF member) you get 100 points per diner. far better for 600 points for a night than waiting on some dimi points which only gets me $20 off eventually anyway.

I hope i don't have your same problem - after all the dimmi one was fully cancelled. so their records should not show that we dined under dimmi - but instead qantas (which I believe is using the dimmi system anyway).

        • 600 QFF points is generally worth $6 so getting $20 off a meal might have been a better option.

        • @danielh:

nope. $6 is off jus tone meal.

YOu need to book several meals out to get the points for a $20 off meal.

and true 600 qff is $0.01 a $6 value, but that dramatically increases beyond cash value if you talk about accumulating for typical flights and all again.

        • @SaberX: But the deal gives you 10,000 points (not even including the bonus 2,500 points for doing a review). The 10,000 points gives you the $20 so you just need the one meal.

        • @danielh:

sorry. i meant prior to me receiving this 10000 point deal i already booked without the bonus. that said, this is great if you plan to use the $20 voucher, but then again you'll end up spending it on another meal… if you just wanted points to redeem for a qantas flight dollar for dollar it wouldn't stack up but on the 'balance' of spending another night out on a meal versus longer $ time to accumulate, you'd get a free flight for example.

Although yeha, your right the 10,000 bonus points on this is pretty good for those that outright want the $20 and actually like the restuarant redemption choices. i still miss the old $50 redemption vouchers - perfect for a couple. minimal additional outlay going out for dinner.

    • I booked in dimmi initially. So I cancelled my previous dimmi one and made another one. Hopefully it'll get through!

  • +1

Sitting at around 60K points myself - I find myself booking restaurants using Qantas Restaurant Bookings (which uses Dimmi), so I can earn Qantas points instead (100 Qantas points per diner).

    • When alone or with partner, use Dimmi redemptionn, albeit limited restaurants. When in big groups, use Qantas for more points.

    • So does that earn you both Qantas and Dimmi points??

      • +2

Only Qantas points but at least with Qantas the points don't expire whereas Dimmi's do.

        • How quickly do Dimmi points expire?

        • +1

          @beankurdt:

Used to be 12 months, now 18 months. Gave up lots of points in the past.

        • don't qantas points expire too? Just curous as i'mg etting into the whole pointshacks thing and accumulating for a future honeymoon biz flights… i thought qantas ff and other frequent flyer programs expire ? Or is it mainly if innactive and not earning qantas points through your credit card? Even then I guess it's still expiring…

          just curious.

        • @SaberX:

Qantas points expire if there is no activity in your account within 18 months. But that's pretty easy to avoid as they give you points for doing surveys, signing up to programs, Woolworths etc.. I get points through their fitness app.

Whereas Dimmi you can only get points by dining. No other way to earn points or keep the points active.

    • I cancelled my dimmi today too and rebooked with the qantas restaurant bookings as well. didn't know they use dimmi or that this even existed. not bad for 6 of us versus if it was just dining with the mrs as you get 600 points.

Hopeuflly they dont pull a fast one or confuse it , although technically if it's electronic they should've had the original dimmi disappear technically as i cancelled it via dimmis site.

  • How does the 50% off offer works.. I book through dimmi, go there and eat.. How do I pay?

    • +1

You pay as per normal but the bill will be discounted by half.

      • thanks - so i would need to declare that i booked through dimmi when i arrive?

        • no need, they should have the details from dimmi when you booked

        • +2

I've had to remind two restaurants after receiving the bill that I was supposed to get 50% off but it was no drama and they were both apologetic about the error. They can see the Dimmi booking on their end to confirm any discounts or conditions.

        • @eyeballz2770: great. Thanks guys!

    • +1

A place I went to only did 50% for mains, but never said that on the site… so be careful.

      • +1

If you're bothered could contact Dimmi about that.

  • you freaking rock

  • Works outside of australia?

    • Dimmi only serves the Australian market.

  • Didn't see any 50% off for Mr and Mrs Howell? A very good restaurant I would go back to.

    • It was there earlier today. I guess they turn it on when they expect low trade. May see it next Tuesday?

  • +1

Anyone know if we can also use entertainment book vouchers when booking with Dimmi?

    • +3

I've tried to stack deals 3 times but none have allowed it. 2 restaurants were nice about it but 1 restaurant owner in Moss Vale acted like I was trying to steal her first-born. Times are tough. :(

I have gone on "specials" nights where they had deals like unlimited ribs or half-price offers on a Wednesday night and %-off Dimmi discounts were honoured.

    • +1

I have before! I've also done it with the Citibank free wine, then paid with my Good Food Gift Card (which was purchased at 20% off).

I got a meal + drinks worth almost $200 (for four people) for about $15 each!

      • That's great! I guess it's a matter of you won't know unless you give it a go. :)

      • How strict are they on paying with your Citibank card though? My impression was that the whole amount needed to go through the Citi card

  • I thought Dimmis and Forges closed

  • Has anyone received their 10K bonus points yet?

    • Not in my account yet, though post does state "Points may take up to 30 days after the promotion has ended to appear in the entrant's account".

    • Not yet… has anyone else?

  • +1

    Got my points
