Keep in mind it's another $188 for bags.

      10kg carry-on included if you're keen :)

It’s the food prices that turns me off, especially if they enforce the no outside food on board rule. That’s a long flight from Singapore to Athens!

      • It's the prices and the quality that I struggle with. They never enforce the no outside food rule, but there is only so much enjoyable food you can carry onboard for a 13 hour flight. Give me AirAsia for the same money any day.

      $188 for bags.

$338 if you want 20 kg of luggage and a 1x meal and drink on each sector. So that takes you up to $930.

Qatar costs $120 more and you'll get an infinitely different inflight experience.

From personal experience, scoot's terrible services are not worth the $$ saved on tickets, probably better off paying a couple hundred more dollars and fly with a proper airline, or redeem award flights with points.

All due respect but that's a pretty mean spirited downvote. Just because you've got fragile sensitivities doesn't make this poor value for someone else.

      • I respectfully disagree. You could easily sign up for a 100K point velocity amex card and fly there for the cost of an annual fee. Sooo much better inclusions - baggage, 2x free lounge access, full meals, earn additional points and status credits etc. etc.

Assuming you meet the requirements. Scoot is pretty clearly targeted at students and young people. I work 30 hours a week, well above minimum wage and still don’t met the minimum income requirements for any Amex.

      • I agree with sharkroman.

Don't get me wrong, I fly Scoot a lot, including ScootBiz, and the only way I would travel to Europe with them would be on ScootBiz.
Even then, I have had some bad experiences in ScootBiz also (eg food order not processed, no internet, no entertainment, assigned economy seats, etc).

If you are going to Europe, then an extra couple of hundred on a better flight experience is worth it. I mean, how often do most people go to Europe? Might as well make it a bit more comfortable if it's not too often.

        • Fair points, albeit overcome with planning. Didn't experience assigned economy seats though? Free to move about and was able to get a row most of the time.

Those hundreds saved can stretch for extra weeks, especially over in Eastern Europe.

        • @mcnugget: No. I paid for Biz, and when I got to the airport had been assigned Economy seats. They basically gave my seats to someone else.

I'm guessing you travel differently to me. $200 will be lucky to cover more than one night in a 4* hotel…

        • @Tiggrrrrr: That's rough! Hope they at least gave back the difference.

Yep tempted to fly back and stay over East a bit longer, OzBargain heaven.

      • All due respect but that's a pretty mean spirited downvote.

        You're new here aren't you?

According to this review its not as bad as it sounds:

Recently flew Scoot return to Europe and was fine, people just need to go in with reasonable expectations.

    Tips:
    - pack light (did 2 months, forces you to not over-pack). Advantage of further savings on budget airlines over there
    - take laptop/tablet with entertainment
    - bring a big empty water bottle (fill up at airport/gate)
    - watch out for the buttons on the armrest

Different strokes for different folks, but preferred spending the savings over there and would definitely do it again.

watch out for the buttons on the armrest

Yeah, Who is the genius who thought to put the buttons on top of the armrests…..very irritating.

  • I literally can't find any flights over a whole month from Perth to Athens. Athens to Perth is doable. Perth to Athens doesn't appear to exist.
