Awesome deal Cripto, I've never seen Scrabble for under $40 new anywhere! Grabbed myself two, cheers dude! :)

    • Yeah great deal! Another Christmas gift done!

    • Great price! I thought I had a bargain a couple of years ago when I bought Scrabble Classic for $30 to replace an old set (the letters had worn off the tiles). I really prefer playing Scrabble with wooden tiles anyway.

  • I was looking to buy a copy of this a few months ago. Now my interest has sort of passed…But this price is very good! I refused to pay $30+ for a plastic set. :)

  • Awesome!

  • What's this thing about being half classic half new?

    • I think they mean by "It is a classic recreation of a favourite game made to modern manufacturing standards" that they have only been making the plastic version, and now they are doing it again in wood? As per my earlier comment, I had only seen plastic editions when I was looking a few months ago. It doesn't say anything that changes the game play, just about the build standard/quality. Please correct me (anyone) if I am wrong.

    • I bought Scrabble Classic as a gift a couple of years ago. As you can see from the photo, the playing board is a pale colour (some of the 'newer' editions of Scrabble have a dark green coloured playing board).
Basically the board looks just like the really old copy of Scrabble I bought it to replace.
No changes to the tile distribution or the rules.

  • Good price. I've ordered one for just under $21

Great deal but if often causes tension at the Christmas night party when we play this. Monopoly is much worse, especially after last year >_>

  • Just to let you guys know Kmart have probably the plastic version for $24, http://shop.kmart.com.au/product/scrabble-board-game/101074

But I guess if this one that 1-deals are selling is the wood version I guess it's well worth getting that one!

  • Just grabbed one. :)

  • Ok, I just bought one! :D

  • sold out

  • What with real tiles and stuff?

It's all about words with friends these days.
