SUB $2000 OLED!!!!!!! Now time for literally everyone in the OLED deal comment sections to buy lol

    • +2

Nah then it will be "Will buy when its under $1500" lol

    • +2

Mine is the 65" under $3000, so a bit to go still.

      • I think we will see them sub $3500 soon and very close to it come boxing day.

  • anyone know how this rates v the LG B7 or C7?

      Objective review - http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/tx55ez952b-201707194485.htm.

Other 2017 OLED TVs that compete in a similar price bracket include the LG C7/ B7 and the Sony A1. In terms of image quality, the Panasonic TX55EZ952B’s colour palette is the most natural even out of the box. It also offers the most extensive and usable selection of motion-boosting technologies, though we’re less than impressed by the rare but reproducible stuttering in scenes with mixed film/ video text.

Of course, the LG and Sony OLEDs support Dolby Vision (the latter via an upcoming software update), whereas the Panasonic doesn’t. At this time of writing, we don’t really know how important Dolby Vision (DV) is, but we suspect the answer will reveal itself when Panasonic (and Samsung) executives go over their respective sales figures at the end of the current fiscal year.

If you can see past the lack of Dolby Vision, then the Panasonic EZ952 will reward with its true blacks, pristine colours, excellent video processing, balanced HDR10 tone-mapping, wide viewing angles and low input lag.

Panasonic's EZ1000 OLED beat the LG and Sony OLEDs for 'Best Home Theatre TV' in the 2017 UK TV Shootout. The only differences between the EZ1000 and this EZ950 is a built-in soundbar, some extra calibration tools and better anti-reflection (so not much really): http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/shootout-results-201708224491…

The Panasonic OLEDS are really good, but there is one issue that has kept me considering them. They have a problem displaying 50hz material (so that'd be all broadcast content etc.). Nothing huge, but worth taking into account. If you're interested take a read of the AVforums and Whirlpool.

  • Wait, any reviews of this out? I thought only LG, and recently Sony, were in the OLED game!

    • +2

LG make the panels for both Panasonic and Sony

But Samsung were in it with TV, still in it with phone and tablet, AMOLED.

      • +1

They might all have panels made by LG but they will all look substantially different. It really doesn't matter if the panels are the same, as long as they're good to start with. It's more the quality of the image processing and brains behind the screen which really make the picture look good and the TV perform better. Panasonic have always been the master at this with their plasma's which are similar tech to OLED.

        • I would actually prefer no sound bar.

  • +1

    Could this replace a VT-20?

  • cant see it this price. i can only see it at $2495. Am I missing something?

    • +9

Yea, the coupon code, TV20… like the most important part of any deal on Ozbargain…

    • Yes, the TV20 discount code.

Waits patiently for a $2,500 Sony 65" OLED.

    • You will be waiting 2 to 3 years

      • Probably longer, but that's OK.

I have an awesome Sony 55" 4K TV until they drop in price.

        • Big difference between 55 and 65 though

  • +3

Waiting for a sub 3k 65" OLED like

  • +1

I have the 65" EZ950, it's a beauty. I bought it (including delivery, wall mount and installation) for $5100 about 5 months ago. Still don't regret it!

  • No Dolby Vision on these..

    • Is that really a big selling point ?

    • +13

Just drink a few more beers and you’ll have Dobly Vision

  • +5

Great TV - shieeet firefox operating system on it tho - Panasonic do not update any of their app market place at all - not even a plex client available for it.

    • Agree with this comment, probably the shittest OS on the market. Future support is also uncertain
as there were reports of Firefox pulling out.

  • How important is Dolby Vision? Will be the industry standard of the future? Seen some footage on YouTube and I can see the difference

    • Only really used on Netflix at the moment.

    • It’s availabe on Apple TV for some movies.

    • How can you see the difference on YouTube looking through a non-Dolby Vision screen?

      • I have a samsang note 8. I could tell the difference.

  • Waiting for 65’ under $3k

  • +2

A good review on this TV

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PUVEA415dY

    Best OLED for colour accuracy,
26ms imput lag in game mode vs 20 for LG
    Better motion than LG
No Dolby Atmos/Vision which LG supports.

    • +2

I read something on product review about more stutter or jitter in this, but then read similar from a pro review. Its making me hold off…

      • +1

I think that's only an issue when using their motion smoothing/enhancement bullshit, which you should probably turn off anyway.

        • Unfortunately it seems to be a universal issue, regardless of motion enhancement, for all 50hz material. There are various discussions on a variety of forums. AVForums probably has the biggest wealth of info on it.

        • Ended up heading toward Brissie to view one inh the shop and decided to buy one… its still priced at $2990 at HN, and 2600ish at other places, was $3200 at TGG at some point. Collected instore, so far its good.

You can always wait for the new tech, upgrades to HDMI etc but then I wouldnt be getting it for $2k.

Cheers muchly OP… I actually like TGG, they have FTA TV hooked up so you can kind of see what you get. Its a tad exhausted as its one input for every TV but still, its something. Most shops just run recordings or downloads if youre lucky so who knows what quality youre actually seeing.

  • I was just about to post this deal! saw it on cash rewards. So tempting.

Also waiting on 65inch under 3k to replace vt60 Panasonic

    • Mine is to replace my Panasonic PZ700A. Other than it being a heater its still doing great. Was $3000 when I bought it, so happy to pay that again for a 65" this time.

  • +1

Oh yeah I like the look of the Panasonic picture the best!

  • Is there anything better than this for sub $2,500?

  • +2

Honestly if people are coming from an LCD, then any OLED would be an amazing update, for the first time they are almost as good as each other.

For those looking at the Sony, it has an odd stand which I didn't like, so make sure you check this before you buy.

I personally went for the LG C7 and don't regret it one second.

As for Dolby Vision, I tested it compared to standard HDR on my Xbox One X and feel it's just a bit better in dark/night scenes, especially if streaming at 4K.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned this yet… Where's the original Scrooge McDuck? Or is this is second account?

    • Scrooge McDuck is in Sydney. This account says it is from Perth, so perhaps different people?

Noticed there is a ScroogeMcDuck from Queensland too.

  • The 65" looks to be $3996

    I’m so tight

Made so much money this year but not willing to part with it

    • That's great to hear, I'm sure you will loosen up over time

  • +2

Still works for me, homey delivery with the code still works till midnight i think.

It is very tempting at this price and I don't really care for Dolby Vision because Samsung and Panasonic is coming out with HDR10+ which is exactly like Dolby Vision (dynamic HDR per frame). The only reason I don't want to get it now is it because of HDM2.1 which will be in next year TV. This upgrade will see a huge upgrade in the standard and the cable hardware which we will see a lot of visual and audio improvement over the current HDMI2.0 and it is as big as going from component cable to HDMI cable all those years ago with variable frame frate (like G-synce on monitor), 12 bits colour supports, 48Gbps of bandwith and many more. So for now, i'm going to take a wait and see approach til we get to see it at CES 2018 in one month time.

    • HDMI 2.1 won't be released on commercial TV's until at least 2019. PC's get it first well before any TV's and it hasn't even been officially released yet. The only improvement you'll see from HDMI 2.1 is better framerate capabilities 4K @ 120fps and 8K @ 60fps. There is also larger bandwidth it carries which does help audio systems but there is no audio streams currently out that will support it anyway. 2.1 is only useful for PC Gaming. Also Sonys use of HDR is much better with their Xtended Dynamic Range… Its object based and is per frame much better than per scene.

  • Waiting for 75 oled sub 2k

    • You will be waiting many years

  • While this is a good price, I am not sure if I would purchase another Panasonic TV again. A few years back, I bought a Panasonic 50" plasma TV from Dick Smith when it was on sale for $999, great TV but it died just outside of the 12 months warranty and cost me $660 (inc GST) to get it fixed.

    • Funnily enough, my mum bought a 50 inch Pana plasma when they first came out - she used the hell out of it and it’s still getting used daily for hours on end. Weighs a tonne though.

      • Yep bought my Panasonic plasma when it first came out with HDMI back in 2005 for a stupid $5500 for the 42 inch. Still better picture quality than today's 1080P LEDs. No issues with it and still going strong whenever I put it on.
