I was just about to post this. Good deal! I'm currently downloading it

GTA V: Game of the Decade.

    • It will be by the time GTA VI comes out in 2023…

  • +8

Expect long loading times to load into lobbies and micro transaction pay walls.

    • -2

There are no paywalls! Every update is free!

      • +3

He's referring to having to grind for anything nice.

Alternatively pay $90 AUD for $8 mil in-game which will get you a nice house, a nice car and maybe two gunrunning custom vehicles (flying bike, ramp car).

And we haven't even got weapons yet. Or car upgrades. Or a company. The list goes on.

        • +2

Plenty of ways to make money, you just need to know where to look; plus this is the PC version, money troubles are virtually non existent ;)

        • @smartazz104:

I started with 80m through nefarious ways and am currently at 10 after buying everything I wanted

        • i just wanna drive round and shoot people?

i have to buy in game currency for that???

        • @MADBONE89: you'll have to do some missions or Rob some ATM's to afford better guns and cars.

Youll be easily outclassed by people who have better guns and cars though

The generation of instant gratification is incompatible with 120 second load times. RIP

      • +5

2 minutes would be considered extremely quick. And it's every single time you load in. If you did a lot of activities, you could spend a third of the time just loading.

While patient gamers like yourself may enjoy staring at clouds instead of actually playing the game, I personally prefer the latter.

        • I'm surprised by this revelation. I don't exactly have a beast of a rig (I do have an SSD, OzBargainers gonna Bargain) and my load times are as follows:

Initial server load in (from clicking "Online Mode") - Maximum of 120 seconds
          Quick-joining a race/activity (staring at clouds) - No more than 30 seconds
Time between rounds - No more than 30 seconds.
Switching from one race to the next race - No more than 30 seconds.
Loading back into server (post-activity) - No more than 60 seconds.

Granted, last I played was about a month ago, but obviously it's a different story.

What kind of load times are you experiencing?

      • Damn if you don't have an SSD it gonna be longer than 120 seconds

Alternatively get your friends to download this and either setup your own server or play on one of the many public ones - https://fivem.net/ there is also https://gt-mp.net but I think fivem is the more polished product. Feel free to install both though.

      • +1

I love fivem, especially the zombie survival modes!

Was looking at this the other week and thought I'd hang off as $70 for a game that's a few years old was a bit much… glad I did, added to the steam library now. Cheaper than picking up the CD key alone.

    thanks

    No single player DLC. SAD!

    • You can get mods that load all the DLC cars into the singleplayer game but Rockstar do tend to try and patch that out every couple updates so you have to update the mod too. Annoying but the cars are cool.

  • +1

People happy to downvote star wars for micros but not GTA5?

      • Yeah, I am just worried with the direction rockstar are taking. Even after watching the RDR trailer and seeing the gang of cowboys you can tell its going to be full of the same old heist grinding multiplayer and shark card crap. If they dropped a single player DLC or two I would have been fine with it.

      People are hard for Rockstar.
People are hard for hating EA.

EA does some shady shit, no doubt. A lot of it.

But Rockstar are honestly becoming just as notorious for it and people still keep turning their blind eyes.

  • wish it said xbox one

    • me too

      • +13

PC MASTER RACE YOU CONSOLE PEASANT PLEBEIANS!

  • Should I ??? been playing story mode only and so far it quite addictive.

    • The comedown when you finish will hit you hard

  • can i see this as a sign of gta6? lol

  • +11

Good price, but it really should be $10 by now though…

    • +7

Yeh, a game that has been constantly in the top 10 on Steam charts (if not top 5) since release should be $10. 10/10 for logic

      • +3

Or take into account it's nearly a 3 year old game. Then yeah, my logic is fine.

        • +2

          Seen Minecraft?

  • +2

I'm conflicted. On one hand gta 5 is probably one of the best games ever.

On the other hand, the cash cow of gta 5 online has caused more damage to video games being "fun" more than anything else. Why make a game fun when it can be profitable? :(

  • Thanks OP, does this include all the DLCs etc? or is this just the base game?

    • Hi mate, i think only the base game. Steam has the DLC - Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack for USD$39.99 and the bundle for USD$53.75

      • +1

All DLC is "Free", the criminal enterprise starter pack skips the grind for money and unlocks the items for you, plus gives you a cash injection

    • Yes. All DLC s are free to download. You only need the patience to grind so you have enough Gta$ the content in game.

      • Thanks for the response, so is this multi player only or does it have single player in it as well?

        • Both are included

  • What happened with that big outrage a while ago over multiplayer servers or mods or something? Did they reach a resolution?-

  • I already have the game on PS4 and Xbox One, I’m quite high level on both accounts and have finished story mode on both consoles. I just got a brand new laptop (Dell Inspiron 15 7577) should I get it? Or wait for a new GTA

    • There are a lot of other great games out there…

    • +1

Unless you plan on taking your laptop to work/holidays etc and would benefit from the protability, I personally wouldn't. Just play your current versions and buy something else (if you want a new game that is).

Then again don't mind me, I've bought Final Fantasy X for the PS2, Vita, PS3 and PC..

    • Don't expect GTA 6 until 2019 - 2020.

  • This game is really fun. even more fun with friends when doing missions and heists.

  • I'd get slapped with a conversion fee when buying this right? Any reason not to just buy a key for $33AUD from somewhere else?

  • I am getting more then two minutes to do any thing online with an ssd

  • i got i7-920 and Amd rx460. would pc still be ok to run it?

    • +1

Depends on your definition of running it?
I was able to run it, but at a very low res, with almost the same CPU and a much slower (nVidia) GPU that only had 1Gb of video RAM.
The PC had 16Gb of RAM if that has any relevance.
It was quite playable, but I don't play for graphics or frame rates, so I don't remember if there was any issues there.
It complained a lot about the low video RAM so if your card has at least 2Gb you should be able to get higher resolutions?

  • +1

was about to finally pull the trigger on this after owning it on the 360 and One, but then found out that they discontinued the character transfer feature. there's no way I'm going to buy this 3 year old game just to start online from the start. ridiculous. source

    • If there was a way to at least transfer my half played story mode from Xbox One to PC then I would do it… but it seems even that isn't available.
