Return Melbourne/ Sydney to Stockholm//Oslo from $861 with Thai Airways (May/June 2018)

800

These have got to be some of the cheapest flights to Europe I've ever seen.

There are plenty of dates to play around with in May/June with get you there for $8xxish dollars.

You're flying with Thai Airways (ranked number 1 for economy) and most flights have only 2 hours in layover.

There's other destinations too (Munich/ Zurich etc) that have similar pricing.

Where? Someone posted flights to Rome only - the site they link to shows flights to all other destinations in Europe for over $1000.

sorry I was wrong. I got confused with the earlier deal with flight to denmark also with thai airways, also for about the same price.

What are the other destinations? Any cheap fares to Amsterdam or Barcelona?

I dunno mate. I'm not a travel agent. Take a look on the site.

This is an ozbargainers dilemma, the flights are cheap but the country is expensive.

That's a crazy price. Especially since it's the best airline for this flight in my opinion. Usually the Thai air tickets are about two grand.

Edit: might be worth looking directly at Thai airways website too. Got an email about their sale, but never looked up prices. Can probably assume it's related.

Agree. I've flown with Qatar, Emirates and Etihad to Europe and the first leg to the middle East is the killer.

    • We went with Etihad flying out of Sydney about 10pm. Managed to get a few hours sleep during that leg and arrived in the uk in pretty good shape. The leg from UAE to London is only 7 hours so if you can grab a few hours on the first leg you are sweet.

  • Great price. Wanted to go in July to Munich … but looks like the good prices are only for June.

  • Did someone tried to make a booking? I tried to book two weeks ago and wasn't able to book online as when it comes to the payment details.. there pops up a message "payment declined". Then an agent phoned me and said there is a problem in the 2nd leg as we can't get the same price as the fares we are getting for the 2nd leg are a bit higher so can you pay this much (difference of 200 dollars * 3.. I said no thanks and decided to buy with Byojet at a bit higher price …

    • Was this best jet? I managed to pay for mine. But haven't received the e-ticket yet.

  • If only these fares were available in the school holidays…

    • HaHa, will never happen!

You can also do multi city. Got Melbourne->London and Rome->Melbourne for $902.

    • What dates?

      • I tried 1 May to 21 May.

    • +1

Genius. I can't believe I forgot to try this trick this time when I actually wanted to do a multi-city to begin with…

Even better using Oslo to return to Sydney in my case but I don't really want to go to Oslo again…and Italy is a cheaper hub.

    • That's outstanding.

Is your username an indication of the inflight dining to be expected?

    • +1

      Haha, yea, that's it.

  • will you get Stockholm syndrome if you go there? :)

  • Skyscanner seems to be more up to date for Bestjet pricing.

  • Thank you OP and comments! Booked Sydney to Oslo and Rome back to Sydney for $923 return. Date was 12 May to 1st June

  • How do you find these cheap flights?

It would be a full time job searching combinations of destinations and dates.

And waiting for ozbargain to find me deals is a little inflexible

    • its automated? and you can set up alerts?
