TV manufacturers insist on different model names for the same products in different regions. For anyone looking for reviews, the US equivalent is the MU6300 (our MU6100) and the MU6290 (our MU6103). Rtings review Digital Trends Video review.

    • It does help when some TV’s Are 110 or 220v, or the type of tuners are different for regions, so there are slight differences..

      • Oh if it was logical and served a purpose, sure. But as an example, Samsung sells an MU6100 in the US. It is nothing like the MU6100 they sell here in Australia. Identical model numbers, completely different televisions. How does that help anyone?

    • Why are your links to the m6300 if this is the m6290 (MU6103)

      • Do a bit of research yourself, and you’ll see why.

        • Don’t spread misinformation and respond rudely when called out

        • +2

@Gizdonk: Because Rtings aren’t going to bother reviewing the MU6290 when the only difference is between it and the 6300 is lack of Bluetooth and the remote control. Every single other hardware and software aspect is identical. MU6300 = MU6290 without Bluetooth and different remote controls. Not misinformation at all. 30 seconds on Google and you would have figured it out. More than happy to help people, just not rude people like yourself.

You’re the same person that asked if this TV was better than Kogan branded TV half the price. Don’t be afraid to do some of your own research.

        • +1

@aja12: Funny you'd say that, and lo and behold Rtings puts up a review for the MU6290 effectively today given it's the 25th in the States right now.

        • @tmr3: lol

  • Does this have HDR? The JB HIFI specs lists HDR, not sure if accurate

    • +1

Yes, it does, but it only does an average job at it due to the colour gamut and peak brightness. Overall picture quality for this price is excellent though.

  • Do anyone know that there is a big difference between 100Hz and 200Hz
    Thanks!!!

    • +10

      difference is of 100Hz mathematically

    • -2

      yeah
      its doubled
      200%

how long is a peice of string?

    • +4

200Hz in a TV would make for technically faster refreshing, which is always a benefit. Smoother video (to a degree), not necessary at all though.

      • Thanks StoneSin

        • +1

It's a valid question… not sure why they are getting upset.

        • @StoneSin:

          because its hard to quantify…
some ppl cant even see/realise the difference between 60hz > 100hz until its pointed out to them…

          100hz>200hz can be the same.
better if the op went into a physical store and demo'ed some units…

        • @spoonmugen: Nah they'll be able to tell 60->100, 100->200 might be harder but that doesn't mean it's not good. 200 is much better than 100… I agree in that some people don't need it though.

Most people don't need 4K TVs too.

        • @StoneSin:
yeah the jump from 100>200 isnt as noticable as 60>100
but it depends on everyone's viewing…
if you dont watch action/sports then its really not much different

OP you are on fire mate

  • +9

price beat @ HN, got it for $700 thx OP

    • Wow - Good work! You're welcome 💪

    • Whoa! How? I just picked one up from Harvey Norman and they would not budge below $899!

      • +2

yes, used my two amex cards, saved further $200

        • +1

Ah okay! Man was freaking out there! But looking forward to getting AMEX discounts when I sign up for one soon!

    • can you provide receipt so others can get same?

      • +2

it is $899, used my 2 amex cards, made it to $699

      • +1

        What worth is a receipt?

Do you show it on your phone online and say "Neugh! These guys got it, how come I didn't?" ??

    • its online only on HN, how did you manage to price beat now?

      • really,?still many in store @$1095

    • I tried they said because they had it on clearance that I couldn't price match… Got it at the Good Guys.

  • +3

Warning, they will cancel your order if: Someone else needs the product and paid more, you don't have a Myer One card, they don't like you, etc. etc.

Myer has every excuse possible, including the use of ANNIVERSARY10, 15 and 20 being illegal to use unless you see it on their website (total bullshit, if the machine reads it, it's valid).

Happy cancellations and Christmases for the unlucky 20% of people here.

    • I'll keep you posted. Others have price matched with HN (also the other TV I posted a few hours ago). Hopefully no cancellations (I bought the MU6103).

      • If you don't want cancellations, it's more appropriate to get the item shipped and/or stress INSTORE that you ordered something and want to collect it now BEFORE CHRISTMAS. This won't give them time to flag your order and cancel it for no good reason.

    • +2

+1 this. They did it to me on an order after waiting for 7 days. 3 days later they had more stock (told me out of stock) and sold again but at a higher price. I was going to continue to bug them for a resolution but take more joy from watching their share prices plummet.

      • @Third_Gear, exact same case here. I get a good deal and they screw me around for several days and treat me like a child/criminal right before Christmas…

The stock was there, they just hid it since people like me were getting too good a deal. The stock went down 1 day and up the next (once orders were cancelled I assume). Meanwhile I was communicating with them for ages, to get the same excuses over and over that contradicted each other.

        Total (profanity).

Edit: I advise anyone using this code to get a MYER one account prior to ordering, otherwise there's a good chance you're getting cancelled as these codes are "MYER ONE" restricted… or that could be a lie too :P

    For a 55 inch top brand, that’s what u call a bargain.

  • ok for a kids TV, but as a main TV you want something with good HDR these days as that is the way all teh content is going.

    • +1

      Also oled

    • +2

Perfectly fine for adults that don’t want to spend a lot and still have a good 4K TV. I have my Xbox One X and PS4 hooked up to this TV and am more than happy with the picture quality. It’s much better than the Sony X7000E and Hisense N6 I had before it. I would have preferred the Sony 49X9000E which could be had for as low as $1399, but considering I paid half of that for the 50 inch variant of the MU6103, I’m more than happy with the TV. Good HDR specs doesn’t automatically mean good picture quality. There’s several LG models that are proof of this.

    • Main TV is still a Samsung 1080p which is going strong. Sure I'm looking to upgrade but there's nothing bad about not choosing the newest tech.

  • Anyone actually been able to order one? Whenever I try it says "Unfortunately, your order is not available for your selected delivery option.
To continue with your order, please select another delivery option."

Click and Collect says "Unfortunately, something went wrong. To continue with your order, Click & Collect is available or try again later."

When I input my post code into Click & Collect it says "Not available for Click and Collect"

Just ordered then. 30 secs ago. I didn’t have any issues. In WA

    • +7

Seems that I can't purchase it because I am located in South Australia.

I have however found the same TV from VideoPro on ebay with 20% off code POWERUP brings the price to $831.40 shipped.

      • great catch

  • Harvey norman $988 plenty stock

    • Bit higher at JB $998

  • So tempted to pull the trigger or should I wait 2 more days for boxing day sale? How long will this deal last?

    • +1

Lucky if it lasts until midnight tonight…

  • Is there any way to make Harveys price match online?

  • Any suggestions if we need buy the additional warranty and how many years? Very good deal and thanks,

    • How does this compare to the 6100 model?

  • No delivery to the Adelaide Hills even though it's considered metro here 🤔

    • +1

None in Adelaide at all unfortunately… Price match with good guys or other, or go for the Video pro deal

  • Whats the deal with 1 year warranty. Even Hi sense offers 3 year warranties now. Cmon samsung.

    No cashback available on electrical.

    • No cashback available on electrical.

Yeah, think it should be removed from the post. I fell for something similar once, only to find out after manually claiming for cashback that electrical purchases aren't eligible.

  • WHAT’s the difference between MU6100 and MU6103? Which one is better?

    Also, does JBHIFI price match?

  • Dear ozbargainers merry Christmas to all of you who celebrates it.
    Just a quick question.
I am thinking of buying this tomorrow however i saw sony 43X8000E is on sale for $899. I did some research but i am not sure which one is the more quality tv? Can some of you please help?

        • Wow. No such email to me as yet.
Sorry to hear mate and thanks for informing us.

        • Your order is cancelled😞 That is not necessarily Myer saying they are not honouring this deal.

As your location is Perth, may just have run out of local stock. Others report no deliveries available for Adelaide.

        • Wondering if I took this to JB or HN if they would price match and I can pick up in store? Which would be the best for a price match that OZB could recommend?

        • +1

          @Sira:
Don't show them Myers cancelled your order! No price match if unavailable.

Might have difficulty if no local stock in store or for delivery. Check if Myers allow delivery to your address now. (Showed $65 delivery available to a central Perth address.)

Others price matched at HN elsewhere - from Myers site price.

          @Infidel:
Thanks, went and collected from JB this morning. Happy with the panel, looks great, especially for the price. Even better with the Aussies having a win in the Boxing Day test :)

        • @Sira:
          Enjoy a double win🏆

  • +3

If someone wants an easy HN price match at $894 here's my receipt from today.

  • Would this be better or worse than a Hisense N7 55"?

  • +3

28/12/17 Just received confirmation via SMS that my TV will be shipped to me tomorrow (VIC)🏆🏆🏆
