Yes but not $39 for the Switch version.

I like how you compared two vastly different console platforms with eachother and try to make a point.

    • +1

Last time JB had this deal for Just Dance I asked and received a price match at Target with no issues - even though it was some $50 less then the RRP they had it at.

  • Tempted for Fifa at this price point.

    • -1

      Seen reviews not great though

    • It's great on switch mate. NBA 2k18, not so much though. Have both games.

      • haha i'd totally disagree with this - NBA2k18 is so much more entertaining.

        • You think 2k18 is good on the switch? Have you not played it on other consoles?

        • @Joey221: I haven't no… but i can only say what i've experienced - and i find NBA a lot more entertaining than Fifa on the switch.

  • Good prices but if only they were digital as well :( The biggest draw with having a truly portable console like the switch is the fact you can change games without popping the cards in and out.

    • +5

Just a reminder. If your buying digital games you don't own the game, Just a license to play it until Nintendo/Others change their mind. Also you can't resell or buy digital games pre owned /discounted due to shelf space. Also if your at all interested in archiving your games to play in 10/15 years it may be likely you'll be unable to download your digital games on your switch if/when Nintendo pulls support. Chances are if your using this in portable mode you have a case and that case has some means of storing the cartridges right?

      • +3

Physical is still 'just a license' too, and you could argue that discs degrade in a shorter amount of time than the digital service which is the future.

        • +2

True, disc rot is a concern but can be taken care of with proper storage.
Cartridge based media should store better for the more immediate future though.

Physical is also technically "just a license" but Developers are pretty much never going to be knocking on your door to revoke those types of licenses where as with digital licensing it can be gone at any minute. I've read too many stories about consumers accounts getting hacked into and them being banned and not being able to unban/get their libraries back.

Son still has his Nintendo Cube, and all subsequent Nintendo consoles, games (doesnt trade up) and GameBoys etc. from about 2000 on. He left the Cube at Nan's so the great grand-kids have something to play when they visit. Console and games are all still working fine and b ave never been repaired. Not many items are lasting that long these days; I am fairly impressed with the longevity of these.

        • +1

Yep Everything Nintendo makes seems to be quality.
Somehow Gba SP's batteries are like magic. I know I haven't charged my SP's battery in years but whenever I turn it on just to check a gameboy game for 5-6 seconds it always works. Leave a PSP/vita/3ds/XL off for a 6 months and the battery will probably be all the way dead. I wonder what happened in between GBA SP times and current batteries.

        • @Scaregdearimasu: Have always wondered that these new consoles and games are not backward compatible any more. Of course that means we have to buy newer consoles to play the latest games, so Nintendo maximising their profits in this manner.

One good, but unexpected, thing about this is that the old consoles and games are now collectors items! The original Cubes are now selling for the same price I paid; about $300. Appears a good thing son never traded in his old games too.

Not heard any complaints about the batteries, but wouldn't think buying a replacement now and then would be unreasonable really (not that son has had any replaced). Yes; reduced battery longevity seems to be the way with all types of newer batteries. So long as they are available and not too expensive I guess okay.

I dunno if that’s the biggest draw? I have a switch and I much prefer for the physical games. My switch case holds over 14

    • Legoworlds is $34 on the nintendo eshop via the console.

  • Anyone know whether just dance 17 is a good game? Thinking about getting a party type game for the switch

    • Just Dance 18 is (was?) $34 @EB Games.

    • +2

i think it is. my mate left me his switch while he is on holiday. he have zelda, odyssey, mario deluxe 8, splatoon 2, and some other small games. guess what, the only game i(my family) play is just dance 17 verson. i think 18 verson maybe better. but we are having fun with the 17. maybe will buy my family a switch later if there is a good deal.

  • Just bought FIFA switch about 10 days ago from eb what's their return policy?

    • They might still let you return it as they have free returns until 12th of January.

    • is it good? I heard it was a really bad port.

      • Not as well regarded as the PS4 version, only 64% average score from critics.

        • The review I read mainly focussed on the lack of game modes. I don't care about modes, just want to play 2 player or vs cpu. Tempting at this price.

        • @fazeyds:

As far as I know all deals are live on the website now, however I may be wrong. I did not have time to read the sale details.

      • +1

I have it and it’s great. I haven’t played much on the other consoles though.

For the love of god can we just get a good price on the switch.

    • Amazon is $408 + 10% amex offer for boxing day (if you registered) should see you get a switch for $360-ish

    • Missed the really great early prices but paid $399 at JB Hifi (matched Amazon AU), which I thought a fair price.

Paid $300 for a Nintendo Cube back in about 2000 so I don't think I paid an unreasonable price.

The only real negative I have about Nintendo consoles is they appear to be the only ones that didn't have Battlefront.

      • +1

It's not a bad price. If you had combined that with the 15% off JB gift cards it would have been just about the best price possible. (excluding those Amex cash back deals)

I'll just have to wait for somebody to do sub $400 as a standard deal.

        • I'm sure it wont be too long as Christmas was really the big demand for them this year. JB was offering $10 or $20 voucher (not sure of expiry for that either; maybe 31st?) also if you purchased a $100 gift card. You couldn't purchase the Switch on same day as received the voucher though and you cannot stack them either.

Fifa 18 for other consoles also $39. Really tempted for the PS4.

Not really a FIFA guy, but I had an absolute blast with it on Switch, 10/10 would recommend to casual FIFA fans who only pop one in every couple years.

Switch controllers on sale anywhere ?

    • Saw at Target for$99, very limited tho

    • This is for Nintendo switch not Xbox one

    • -1

Geez, what a pack of douches for all the negs.. I did update my post to apologise not realising it was a Switch post, but the update isn't visible.

Can anyone recommend an in-store location and price for a Switch SD card, preferably on boxing day?

  • +1

    FIFA is $35 at bigw

    • Dang I'm too late for this but the few stores I asked in Melbourne had no stock.

  • Any good deals on COD WW2

  • +1

jb put the price up on mario kart by $10, was going to pick that up.

    • They also hiked the price of Zelda and Bomberman. Pretty much all of the 89$ switch games are the result of a xmas price hike.

      THANKS JB
