No worries, appreciate the forthright honesty. I’ve got a set of uncommon 5.1 speakers - Mirage MX 5.1 (see: http://www.miragespeakers.com/products/mx-series/?sku=MX-5-1) due to their compact size.
Tempted to simply buy two additional MX speakers for the Atmos to ensure consistent sound across - any recommendation appreciated, any bargains as well too :)
We're familiar with the Mirage MX Series as we use to sell those 5.1 packs before they changed distributors. They are a very good compact speaker.
For Dolby Atmos if possible it is best to install in-ceiling speakers so the sound will be coming from directly overhead. The best value for money in-ceiling speakers I would recommend if your trying to keep costs down a little would be the Studio Acoustics SA600WM @ $169.95 less 20% which is $135.96 a pair.

The dolby atmos channels are designed to project the sound up to the ceiling and then bounce back down to simulate overhead speakers.

FAIL!Disagree. Monitor Audio Bronze 2 bookshelf speakers. $599 less 20%. Much less than everywhere else - $550 plus. Reviewed very well on What HiFi and other places.
