Hannahpad Reusable Sanitary Pads 30-50% off Single Pads

170

So this is a pretty niche product, but I thought, what the hey, if someone was a true OzBargainer they wouldn't be grossed out by this stuff if it would save some cash in the long run.

I haven't tried these myself so can't tell you how comfortable / effective they are, but here's one person's review: https://mademoiselleorganic.com/2016/05/26/hannahpad-review-…

They are made of organic cotton and have a water resistant backing. They last 2-3 years (some people claim up to 5) and from what I can tell, washing them isn't that time consuming - check out Hannahpad's FAQ section. Personally I hate all the plastic with disposables so I'm willing to give these a try.

$6.95 shipping or free if order >$100.

Sale on until tonight 11:59pm AEST Wed 27/12.

If you've got popcorn, then you'll want to watch this (turn subtitles on):

Initially I was grossed out…but I have been changing nappies for years. So a sea of red shouldn't faze me.

    Thanks.

    Good feedback from the reviews:

I was skeptical at first so decided to buy one pad to try.. I was absolutely blown away. The comfort is freakin AMAZING, didn't experience any rashes you generally get from disposable pads, no leaks (even while doing yoga), no odd smells like you get when wearing a disposable pad for more than 2 hours, and i soaked and washed it and it looked brand new again. Incredibly happy I have made the switch, wish i had years ago.

YAY! My Hannahpads are arrived this morning, after a week of trying to be patient I have never been so excited about something so organic and healthy for my body and also the planet. I look forward to trying these out. I love the colours chosen, I love touching them as they are so soft. Despite troubles with biosecurity I'm so excited to try these out and I'm sure I'm going to love them,
    EDIT—-
Ok so I have warn my Hannahpads through two periods (and currently) since being off the deep injection. Over the last couple of years I have struggled with my periods because I have endometriosis which causes me to have very painful cramps and vomiting. It's so amazing because now I can do anything (YAY!!!) during this time as this product has reduced my cramping. So so happy! Thank you!!

how can these reduce menstrual cramps? :/

      • Yeah those claims are bogus. Physiologically impossible…

  • +3

Will this help reduce jv’s constant flow of verbal diarrhoea?

    • +2

No one ever used a sanitary pad for stopping diarrhea.

      • I bet some have tried.

      • You wouldn't believe what people do….

    'Reusable Sanitary Pads'

    Anything more gross than this?

    • +9

People in the previous centuries and foremothers used them

      Yes

      Anything more gross than this?

      No sanitary pads.

      Reusable toilet paper?

I guess we could isolate all the women in a hut at the edge of the village instead.

(profanity) little boys that are freaked out a regular bodily function?

This is one way to avoid the GST on sanitary pads and tampons…

  • A moon cup would be better and more convinient.

    • A menstrual cup is a great alternative for those who prefer tampons

      • I would have thought they'd be a much better option in general - hard to imagine these reusable pads being as hygienic as a cup, but I guess they must have dotted the i's.

    • +2

I guess it comes down to personal preference - I've tried a cup but didn't find it comfortable or easy to use.

This is the kind of thing that hippy green-left antivaxxers would use.

I'd just like to reduce landfill and save some money - I'm certainly not anti-vax etc. I get that these products are sometimes associated with people who have some crazy ideas but at the same time, it is just a product and should be judged on its merits.

      • +4

Good reply! I am glad you are pro-vax :)

        • +4

          Very!

    • +5

I think the environmentally conscious aspect is true. But for the rest of it - I'm a medical doctor who uses reusable pads/menstrual cup. And my bub has reusable nappies. Plus because of her pro-vax mumma, is getting $1000 worth of non-scheduled vaccines including meningococcal acwy, menningococcal b, extra varicella and MMR and flu jabs. Good thing I'm saving money by using reusables.

If you are a Doctor, surely a pharmacist friend could help you out by reducing that $1000+ bill?

Loving the Pro-Vax people at OzB today!

        • +1

Hmm.. I don't have any close friends in community pharmacy so I would feel too awkward to ask… Are you a pharmacist?

        • @eve: fair enough

Yes I sure am. Can't swing a cat without hitting a pharmacist these days hahaha

        • +1

@Pharming: with the rate that medical schools are popping up these days.. same with doctors lol

  • Missed opportunity:

So this is a pretty niche product, but I thought, what the hey, if someone was a true OzBargainer they wouldn't be grossed out by this stuff if it would save some "Gash" in the long run.
