TP-Link Archer VR2800 FTTN Compatible Modem / Router $269.01 Shipped @ Wireless 1 ($255.56 Via Officeworks Price Beat)

110

Just picked up a TP-Link VR2800 from Officeworks for $255.56 today using their 5% Price Beat Guarantee to beat the Wireless 1 price of $269.01 including free shipping (which itself is an awesome price for this unit!). Got mine from Officeworks Castle Hill and there was only 1 left on the shelf there after getting mine. This router is $349 from Officeworks at retail.

Product page

This modem/router is FTTN compatible, has 4 gigabit Ethernet ports and has 2800ac wireless capabilities. Can also be used with other NBN connection types as a router with one of the LAN ports also able to be configured as a WAN port. Has beam-forming and MU-MIMO wireless tech as well.

Still can't believe I got it for this price. Next cheapest price on Staticice is $318.00

EDIT: According to comments below, you can get the same price as the Officeworks price beat guarantee directly from Wireless 1 using the discount code 5MOREOFF (in fact, this saves you an extra cent on the price :) ).

  • Awesome device.

I've been running one for about 3 months without issue.

Replaced a very problematic Netgear D7000.

    • Did you call netgear about the d7000. Im having the 2.4ghz problem

      • Was out of warranty. Same issue I was having. Could probably have pushed the issue but was happy to be done with it in the end.

  • This is exactly what I did 2 days ago. Returned my d7000 to officeworks and have them price beat wireless1 :D

Good work on the price match, but you can just get it direct from W1 for the same price with "5MOREOFF" :) Actually it's 1c cheaper lol.

1 cent cheaper if you use the 5MOREOFF coupon code on Wireless 1. Free delivery, convenience of online ordering, no need to travel to OW to price beat.

Edit: beaten by doweyy by 13 seconds.

    • Didn't know about that. Thanks!

Was at Bunnings right next door anyway, so wasn't really going out of my way to get it (and was able to have it in my hands straight away :) ).

I'm sure others will make use of the tip, so thanks for sharing.

  • Just needed 1 more antenna.

  • Great find OP thanks

  • I don't think this has VOIP. Can anyone pls confirm?

No VoIP. I'd suggest getting an ATA if you want VoIP. An SPA112 should do the trick.

I also looked around for a router with inbuilt VoIP and couldn't settle on one that ticked the other boxes like this one does, especially for the price! We don't use VoIP much at all these days as we all have unlimited mobile plans in our house. I've had VoIP for about 12 years and still have a couple DIDs, but people can just leave a message on those and I'll call them back from my mobile.

This is an upgrade from a FRITZ!box 7390 for me. The FRITZ! hardware was solid and worked well, but the 7490 doesn't quite do it for me as an upgrade.

      EDIT: grammar

      • Thanks. Is Cisco SPA112 compatible with RSP's with the likes of TPG and Aussie BB?

        • +1

Should be. So long as they (TPG, Aussie BB) give you the VoIP config info. Shouldn't be any different to getting a router that has VoIP built in that was not purchased from your ISP. For example, it would do the same job as the VoIP functionality in my 7390 did.

  • So far so good. Got it set up, which was really easy, and can already notice the difference on the WiFi. Turned off the repeater function of my RE450 (I know, repeaters suck), which is now acting as a pure wireless bridge up the back of the house (connected to some Ethernet devices via a switch), as I can now get a good signal down there with the VR2800.

I'm currently on ADLS2+, but will be switching to FTTN in Feb when my current internet contract is up. Looking forward to testing it out some more then. :)

  • How does this compare vs the VR2600? I see one at ~$195 before the 10% off PUNCH, is this worth ~$70 difference for NBN?

  • Got mine delivered today. Fairly painless to configure.

  • Can anyone uploaded their price-matched officeworks receipt? Wireless1 is out of stock. Thanks

    • +1

      Wireless1 has stock.

  • One more left at Five Dock :)
