Last week the X3 was $148 at all JB stores. I wonder if the store you bought it from was just a bit late in removing the sale price tag.

  • They have a bunch of X3 and Freedom with handwritten price tags. Also the sales guy was so nice that he included 2 year of extended warranty in this price.

Isn’t the 2 yr warranty under Australian consumer law? You get it on every item you buy in Australia.

      • There are 2 years of extra warranty in addition to 1 year of standard one. 3 years in total.

        • Oh ok, thanks for that never knew.

    • There is a reason for that. Just yesterday started having issues with mine. Won't charge at all after about a month. Quick Google search shows it's a pretty wide spread issue. They were great headphones, when they were working.

  • Wondering which one is best X3 or Freedom ? any good with Base sound ?

  • I read a number of reviews and X3/Freedom are quite close, although X3 looks slightly better. Also the discounted price is the same, so I assume there are not many differences. And I bought mines as a gift, so couldn't say much about sound.I am not sure about sound, but according to reviews X3 is really good for sport activities.

  • The Jaybird X3's (and possibly other Jaybird's) have an app that lets you customise the sound. The brilliant part is, it's not just a music playing app. It actually changes the firmware of the headphones, so you can customise them, then close the app and the headphones will retain your new customised EQ settings. I wish my Beats X had this feature.

  • Just be careful with Jaybirds, My X2s refused to charge just after the warranty period. There are numerous reports of the the X2s having these problems.

After much discussion Jaybird have done the right thing and are replacing them with a Jaybird Freedom.

However I'd definitely check whether they've solved this problem for subsequent earphones.

  • These were so uncomfortable. Luckily my ebay seller refunded me in full, had to pay $20 to ship them back but by joes they were uncomfortable!

  • How are these versus the Bose Soundsport wireless?

    • Haven’t used the x3s but can say the Bose Soundsport’s are the best and most comfortable sport headphones I’ve ever owned. Great range and battery life, too. Some people find them a little big / feel they stick out too far so maybe find somewhere you can try some on first ..

Just refused price match at $148 (let alone $126) by two different team members. Said they know the price was left on by mistake and only the freedoms are discounted as they want to push that model.

  • $122 from COTD shipped (plus 2.5% back via CR = $118.95) if you’re willing to deal with DWI and presumably take a grey import: https://m.catch.com.au/product/jaybird-x3-wireless-in-ear-he…
