Anyone Done Toshiba RMA for Amazon Purchase?

I bought a few of the x300 drives from this deal:
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/264305

One of the drives is exhibiting pre-death failure symptoms according to my cron smart report:
ID# ATTRIBUTE_NAME FLAG VALUE WORST THRESH TYPE UPDATED WHEN_FAILED RAW_VALUE
5 Reallocated_Sector_Ct 0x0033 100 100 050 Pre-fail Always - 80
196 Reallocated_Event_Count 0x0032 100 100 000 Old_age Always - 4
197 Current_Pending_Sector 0x0032 100 100 000 Old_age Always - 8

Has anyone any experience with getting RMA for these drives?

I'd pay for shipping to Toshiba US if need be, given shipping ~$40 is far cheaper than buying a new replacement ($230+).

I've contacted Toshiba US warranty and they've given me the run around giving me a Sydney phone number which no one is answering.

  • Did you buy it directly from Amazon, or from one of the marketplace sellers? If Amazon, maybe talk to them.

What sort of runaround has Toshiba given you?

  • I bought directly from Amazon, but as per the deal, it's been 1 year and 3 months.
In my experience with my EVGA 1070 GPU, Amazon stop helping after 90 days so didn't bother contacting them.

I contacted Toshiba US HDD department, and they gave me a Sydney number to call, no email address.
I tried calling the number and no one answered (called numerous times).
I called the Toshiba Australia Support number and no one wanted to hear about a product purchased from the US.
I tried going to the RMA website and it said "addresses in the United States only".
I sent Toshiba US HDD department another 2 emails in regards to the above (no answer from Aus, no email address, not able to use RMA site) and they've not answered for 2 days.
