Need advice on chair for everyday use

Hey everyone, first post in this site.

I am currently looking for a new chair to buy as my current one is starting to wear out.

  • Does not need an arm rest as my arms will be on the table most of the time
  • Budget is at most 250
  • Good back support (med or high)
  • Must be able to tilt backwards
  • Durable and comfortable for every day use (4+ hours)

Based on some reviews I've read, this chair seems to be decent for its price. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this chair?

Suggestions or opinions would be appreciated, thanks :)

Can't go past a Aeron chair by Herman Miller personally!

Used mine at my old job, realised how much better they were than the old officeworks style padded chairs and bought a 2nd hand one. That was about 6 years ago now. No regrets. Beautiful chair.

      • The same!! Once you have used one, its hard to go back to 'crappy' padded chairs. I work from home a bit, so ended up buying a 2nd hand one as well for the office. Worth every cent. Thank god for the dot com bubble popping. Lots of cheap ones around.

        • I am unfortunately yet to find these cheap ones you speak of

        • @donyal: the dotcom bubble popping was a while ago ;)

I've had mine for about 5 yrs now and looking at my email, it was $250.

          A steal!

    • i've read great reviews about it but it is too expensive for me :(

i'm only 23 and will consider this when I've earned enough.

  • my arms will be on the table most of the time

    That's not very good manners…

    • His working at a desk, not eating at a table!

Get a chair with backrest adjustment and seat tilt.

Buro Metro 2 for e.g is my personal favourite, much better than the standard IKEA office chairs that I've been buying year after year for about $120.

If you're going to buy a Buro Metro 2 though, you should get the aluminium version rather than the cheaper nylon base variant as the seats are more durable.
