Bosch WTW87565AU Series 8 9kg Heat Pump Dryer $1,223 Pick-up @ E&S ($1,150 Delivered @ DJs with Discounted Gift Cards)

140

E&S are currently taking 20% off ticketed prices in-store (excluding Agency brands). This dryer is on sale for $1,529, so with 20% off is $1,223. Delivery, installation an removal of any old unit is $55 extra.

Awesome price for a dryer with excellent reviews. If you have a spare HN Amex credit they will price match the delivered price so $1,178. I actually got DJs to price match and used 10% off Gift Cards so got it for $1,150 delivered. From what I can see, $100 cheaper than next cheapest price on OzB.

Has someone done a ROI calculation on something like this vs using a conventional electric dryer?

    • It's easy to work out with the numbers provided on this page.

      • Vented Electric Dryer is $225/year (Electricity at 30c/kwh @ 3 loads per week).
      • Heat Pump Dryers use 63% less energy so they cost $83/year

      So that's a saving of $142/year.

So depending on which Vented Dryer you buy (they vary in price between $400 and $800), you will break even somewhere between 3 and 6 years.

      • We bought a vented dryer a couple of years ago for about $700. Electrolux, can’t remember the model but it’s energy rating was ok only (two stars I think). Anyway, after two winters, I’d say the running costs for us is around $500+ a year. So I’d say the payback would be even less than three years. I’d never buy a vented dryer again. Heat pump if I could do it again.

        • it depends where you live. Here in Melbourne with 2 kids my dryer got used probably 2-3 per week in winter and that's it. Probably take around 10 years to justify a heatpump one.

  • Great price, I literally just bought a Heat Pump dryer from HN two days ago. Now I wish I didn't. For those that need one, this is exceptional value.

    • Get into HN tomorrow and claim a price match on their 7 day policy.

      • I can't. I bought a Samsung which E&S don't stock. It's an 8kg heat pump. For the same price I could have got this 9kg Bosch. Oh well, you win some you lose some.

        • Pity about that

We have the Bosch model and has been great for anyone interested.

This is a price I doubt you will ever find again.

  • @stang65: how do you get 10% gift card at DJs (David Jones?)?

    • If you have an AGL account available all year round

      • thanks for the info, i don't have AGL though!

      • Thanks so much.

AGL restrict to $1000 a month but the RACQ seems unlimited.. fantastic news as we are doing a renovation.

    • There are a few different ways. Entertainment Book is probably the easiest, I get them through work, but same discount.

  • Do you mind saying which DJ store price matched as I have 10% off cards and want to use this deal.

    I noticed it finishes tomorrow

    • Any DJs should do it given their price match policy.

      • yes but often have to refer to management to get satisfaction.

recently refused on deal like this (special 10% off for one day at GG) on a nutribullet @ $129.

had to get the store manager out who totally agreed with me and couldn't understand why I was refused.

        will post result tomorrow

i bought one of these today from e&s, with a matching 8kg washing machine also. exceptional value. note, you dont need to pay it in full, can leave 30% deposit and have delivered at a later time.

the matching washing machine (german made) is also very good value at $799 link below. Works out to 2k for the pair.

there is a bunch of other deals on that site that people dont even realise are there, when you take 20% off are a steal - particularly with Fridges etc.

      • Confirmed price match Brisbane DJ

  • +3

Be mindful that you can’t mount these on the wall like the vented dryers as they are quite heavy.

  • Sucks that E&S is only in Melbourne :( No chance of getting this price-matched at a store in Brisbane

    • DJ will match interstate as long as a bricks and mortar store.

      I am in Brisbane.

The match above on nutibullet was against Bing Lee in Sydney

HN will now match virtually anywhere in Australia against bricks and mortar stores and some online only

Last week I price matched an Electrolux cooktop at HN against a company in Sydney called Streamaster(never heard of them lol)

HN price was $1299 Streamaster was $1099. No resistance whatsoever.

If you dont have a DJ gift card just go to HN if closer.

I have price matched many interstate sites at DJ ( eg Peters of Kensington), they ofter grumble and try to refuse .

I find the best way is tell the sales person to get the store manager out… they very quickly cave in.

Just print out the deal before you go and politely hand it to them.

      • But their website shows $1529 and I have a feeling the sales person will say in-store only promo. Will definitely try but I don't have high hopes since E&S don't clearly show delivery prices to Brisbane (only AVAILABLE BY QUOTE).

        • Yes thats my concern too but I reckon it will get through as per OP

DJ terms and conditions do NOT exclude instore promos.

  • For those who have AMEX HN offer - Spend $400 or more, get $100 back expires 31/12/17.
