Little Creatures Dog Days $60 Per Carton - First Choice Liquor

80

Needed a good beer in a can for a bbq today with friends so no glass can end up in the pool. Think this is the only little creatures canned beer and I rate it well.

Normally around the $73 mark at most shops but First Choice have it on special for $60. Dans is just down the road from me and they beat it at $59. Just had no full cartons left but grabbed six four-packs.

What’s wrong with Carlton Dry in a can?

    • not sure what dog days tastes like but with some beers they have more flavour than others … forgetting the hipster “ craft” term …. making beer is an industrial process, and each brewer could make the others beer as they buy hops and don’t grow their own so have acces to the same raw materials nothing craft about it…just ideas on how it should taste….. i personally like bitter strong flavour beers like IPA eg hop thief.

carlton dry is what i call “ refreshing”so too light in flavour for me,

at a bbq do you really need more than a 6 pack if driving home ?

presume the slab is to get best price and the rest go home …. i enever buy 6 packs unles same price per bottles as slab price.

I know this beer, its super hoppy, I work at a brewery and half of the guys love it and the other half hate it. gave my missus some and she said it tasted like grass. But hey i like it. its not a session beer though, if you like IPA's you'll probably like this one.

  • I wish I could have a taste before spending 20+ on a six pack (let alone $60!)

…I'm far too frugal to spend $8 on a single bottle

if you go to DM, they do open beers for tasting if approached nicely, works for me, and they put the rest on for general tasting as they always have some wines on tasting / beers on tasting.

  • I don't understand why this deal is for First Choice if DM's will do it cheaper?

yeah price matching isn't a bargain, its more being able to find a retailer closer than the original deal, I have 3 DMs within 4 km of me but no first choice, I preffer to support the retailer who creates the deal but location doesn't always allow.
