Can anyone comment on the quality? You can buy cheap corded controllers that look the same as this off eBay for about 5 bucks.

8Bitdo controllers feel just as good as the original controllers and the build quality is amazing for a 3rd party controller. If connecting it to a Raspberry Pi there will be noticeable lag. I cant comment if these are genuine 8bitdo Controllers as there are alot of fakes and this is too cheap for one. The 8bitdo controllers are great for iOS, Android, Switch and Wii U gaming.
If you want a wired USB Controller the iBuffalo is the best around and cheaper too. The $5 cheapies are crap and is noticeable just buy the iBuffalo.
Buyer beware on this one unless the OP can 100% confirm these are genuine especially at that price. Better off buying the Amazon.
But no good when you stuck about 1 metre from TV seeing large pixels from old school retro games. You need to sit back on the couch to enjoy the games, unless you pull out a small monitor to play them on. Given that USB Extension cables are cheap
Other Bluetooth controllers I've used have had a noticeable lag. are there any lag issues with these?
I had that on pi, switched tv to gaming and it fixed it. Ymmv

No way I'd buy a third party controller. You don't skimp on controllers - unless it's not for player 1 :)
